Each demographic has their morons.
Evangelicals are no different.
You can fix stupid and I wish the same on any Evangelical who didn’t vote for Romney as I do for the listless freeloaders and Communists who voted for Obama...
You deserve the government you get...enjoy.

I had a number of Mormon friends who were told to stop being friends with me due to our conversations, but the LDS church never put out a contract on me.You were lucky...
"I am a true believer in the gospel of Jesus Christ, I do not believe everything that is now being taught and practiced by Brigham Young.
I do not care who hears it. It is my last word - it is so.
I believe he is leading the people astray, downward to destruction.
But I believe in the gospel that was taught in its purity by Joseph Smith, in former days.
I have my reasons for it.
"I studied to make this man's [Brigham Young] will my pleasure for thirty years.
See, now, what I have come to this day!
"I have been sacrificed in a cowardly, dastardly manner." (Lee enunciated this sentence with marked emphasis.)

Mormonism not anti-mormon bigotry is a distinction without a difference. I'd rather the Mormon over the Muslim Marxist any day. Yup; move along - no BIGOTRY in that last statement at all.

Live the Bible dont hit people over the head with it is my motto.
Sometimes you have to whack 'em upside the head to get their attention.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
16. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
17. so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Titus 2:15
These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.

That may explain WHY he said it; but the statement IS true: MORMONism is a cult. So?
Like I've been saying, we were not hiring Romney for the job of spiritual leader. By voting for or against him, you are expressing judgement on whether you think he would be a better candidate than Obama, for the particular and specific job of President, which entails (1) working to preserve the constitutional freedoms of US citizens, (2) not messing up the economy, and (3) keeping the US safe from foreign attack.
I've hired a number of people over the years. My hiring decision is based on whether I think they can do the job. Their religious beliefs are generally irrelevant unless a case can be made that the religious belief would interfere with their doing a good job in the slot that I'm evaluating them for.
For example, I would pick a Buddhist or Hindu who was diligent in getting the job done, over a Christian who could not get along with others or who spent his time berating others about religion.

To: reaganaut; A Strict Constructionist
reaganaut is right. I was born and raised in Mormonism. I thought all Christians defined the terms, “salvation, God, Christ, eternity, righteousness, progress, and heaven” in the same way I was taught.
Once I uncovered the lies and fallacies of Mormonism, I refused to ever look to Christ. He was a puny brother to me, and just a progressive god, who would one day attain the title of god the father in a Godhood with his progeny beneath him. (or so I had been taught in Mormonism and believed that all Christians thought of Christ this way)
I wandered in that dry desert wilderness for 40 years from the date of my Mormon baptism before Christ brought me to a place of despair - where I could give my life, and control of my life to Him.
There is a vast, unbridgeable difference between the Christ we know and the Christ of Mormonism. Being “nice” to them only lets them believe they have more knowledge than you - and they feel sorry for YOU.

I didn’t ask how you voted, I asked why you’re here on FR. If youre so offended by Evangelicals, what are you doing on a site that is evangelical in nature? Trolling? Trying to separate conservatives from their conservative principles? Such a thing is not conservative.

As long as a man is honest in his dealings, I generally have no issues with his religious opinions. Works for me; but these ARE politicians we're talking about!
