Secession is unnecessary if the dollar is destined to become worthless (which seems may be the case within a couple of years).

The states would be very well served, however, by making provisions to mint their own currency (even if it's not actually put into circulation).

This secession baloney is one big Conservative temper tantrum

BS. This is the first shot across the bow. I think the punk POTUS underestimates the anger present now in middle america.

So not supporting secession makes me a RINO?

It is exactly this type of branding that is fracturing the conservative movement.

I have been reading over these postings and find the same mentality as people did in 1858, the nation is totally divided and little hope of coming together and in fact will grow even worse and the Progressive agenda works its way...wait till Obama imposes a massive gun tax and see what happens...

Excellent point. This may be the solution at hand. The way the feds print money, our dollars won't be worth the paper they are printed on in the not too distant future.

I heard the conversation. I never heard a thing about FEMA. Only heard how it isn’t a good idea to hand your name over to whitehouse.gov. I agree with that.

Stand and fight.

There is no taking your ball and going home.

I support the federal govt secession from power over the states. Each state should be alikened to it’s own “country” according to the original intent. But are sworn to the unified defence of all the states.

Glen Beck backed Romney for President during the primary.

He also asked if you really wanted your name on a list that the government can look at and declare you an enemy of the state.

No. Facebook is bad enough.

I wouldn’t be surprised if some type of civil insurrection happens in the not to distant future.

He backed Santorum. Before that he backed Bachman. You’re either a fool or a liar.

That is the reason I won’t sign one of these petitions.

From what I’ve seen and read about FEMA and their record of responding, I would say STUFF FEMA and let the state emergency management agencies (and all 50 states have their own emergency mgmt agencies) deal with it. They work every emergency anyway.

I’d be more apt to think FEMA would help us die rather than actually save us.

I agree. If there comes a time for serious secession discussions, it wouldn’t be on internet sites and online petitions. While a lot of the reasons to secede have been met, it is not time to fold the tent and run. Our country survived 16 years of FDR, we can survive eight of Obama. Second terms are usually scant on substantial polices anyway, and usually are mostly side issues. We hold the House, so we control our fate on legislation. Our major issues have to come from the seemingly unlimited overstepping of executive powers by the administration, and unwillingness of anyone to hold him accountable. I hope with this election in the rear view mirror, our representatives will stop turning a blind eye. Their strategy was clearly to avoid any side issue in the year going into the election to keep a laser focus on the economic failures. This did not work, so we better see a chance of direction in these committees.
