For 2016, Bush vs. Clinton
CNN ^ | 11-27 | LZ Granderson

(CNN) -- For all of our post-2012 election talk about the changing culture, the changing demographics and, perhaps, a changing party, preliminary thoughts out of D.C. about the 2016 election have us headed toward not much change at all: Clinton vs Bush...again.

I am as intrigued by the prospects of these two juggernauts, Jeb and Hillary, locking ideological horns as I am repulsed by the thought of half of my life being dominated by two family names. One, Clinton, has risen from the ashes after the White House. The other name, Bush, is so toxic that the past two Republican nominees avoided saying it in public, opting instead to skip their combined 12 years in office and head straight back to Reagan.

Face it, Hillary has baggage but Jeb has Bush, and that, more so than his record as governor of Florida or ideas for the future, will determine, at least at the beginning, how he is received. That explains why more than a few conservatives were not thrilled to hear that he was thinking of running.

It's Jeb’s “turn”. The election will go just like this year's. People on this forum who say they won't vote for Jeb, will certainly do that just like they voted for Romney. That was,”You have to vote for liberal Romney because he's better than Hussein, and if you don't vote for Romney you are a traitor.”

Jeb is also married to an Hispanic. 2016 will be, “Vote for liberal Jeb (he's married to an Hispanic, hurray!) because he's better than Hillary and if you don't vote for Jeb you are a traitor.”

Jeb will lose, then the next liberal R will run the next time and lose.

I don't think there will be a conservative ever again in the White House.

Don't do that.

They are not worth, giving up. We all have to stick together. I think someone needs to design a secret code and a place to meet up :) Things in our government have been insane for so long!

“We need to run a woman or minority.”

Sorry, Republicans are not going to win until they get this racism thing figured out.

We can see what they did to West, right? and to Palin, Judge Thomas, that they don’t appreciate our Rice, Powell, going back to Jeanne Kirkpatrick, Republicans are not a party of sexism & racism. Geeze, they wouldn’t even show peilberg’s “Lincoln” before the election for fear that some might dare relate freeing the slaves with republicans.

STOP!

WE have to inform our opinions as best as possible. THis is no ordinary struggle between parties. CNN is FOS and we are silly to take notice of anything they say.

Hillary is projected already as the winner of 2016 by horrified people in the know.

She oversaw the murder of one of her own while on the job and is a viable candidate.

This is what we’re up against.

Pandering and scraping for forgiveness of our racism is going to only incur more condemnation.

Ron Paul is doing this. So is the entire GOP senate and they’re stupid.

Can we stop it? It’s not the 1960s. Republicans can stop being loathesome of. . .Conservatives. That would be a start on the way out of this takeover.

First - What makes you think there will be Presidential Elections in 2016?

Second - If there are, why would you want a candidate indistinguishable from the opposition?

For Clinton to run, she’ll have to beat one of the Obamas. For Bush to run would mean the likely emergence of a third party.

And none of the above four would get my vote.

How could those two “lock ideological horns?” Both are big government promoters. She is just a little more openly “socialist” about and h is a nicer guy, not something over which to choose a ruler.

We HAVE to run a woman or minority for the GOP president in 2012. The media Savagely attacks any Republican woman or minority because the MEDIA wants the GOP to be seen as only for white men and racist, woman hating, etc. the GOP has only run white males for President as the media has knocked out Palin, Cain, Bachmann etc.

The media wants us talking Jeb Bush. I say let's talk Kelly Ayotte

My choices for President:

1.Sarah Palin
2. Kelly Ayotte
3. Cain
4. Nikki Haley
5. Bachmann
6. Susana Martinez
7. Marco Rubio
8. Janice Rogers Brown

We have to pick from one of these . Insane to pick another white male . the blacks see this , the Hispanics see this , the women see this so then the media brainwashing kicks in “Yeah Republicans must be racists”

Kelly Ayotte = very conservative Republican Senator:

I'd Pick Nikki Haley over any communist/democrat and we should all too unless we want to be slaves of the government as democrats want to make us. Notice Haley was not my first choice though. My point is that we CANNOT run another white male as that would just be giving the country over to democrats/socialism/tyrrany. Many on this site don't see the danger we are in from the media and democrat evil. The first goal is to stop democrats and the media. Does Kelly Ayotte meet your standards then Kelly Ayotte = very conservative Republican Senator:

Being paranoid about a worn out, has-been, coattail rider is no way to go through life, friend.

Hey, I’m on your side.

Being in denial about what’s happening around us - look at who just got in - is no way to go.

The photo of BHO bowing to foreign dignitaries is a multitude more horrifying than this photo.

No more white males for the GOP as they have never run a woman, or minority for President ever. Think people don’t notice (it’s as the media wants).

This freeper doesn’t see us making it to 2016 with the outcome on Nov. 6th. World events will alter the U.S.A. and the world forever, we pray for the best.

I don’t know how much weight this Granderson person has with the GOP, but if we get another Bushie I’ll be convinced the GOP has convinced itself it will never have another President.

Wrong—it will be Obama’s Third Term (we will end the limit by executive decree) and the Democrats will make sure the GOP will pick someone who can’t win. Sarah Palin and Ron Paul!

Hey, I’m on your side. Being in denial about what’s happening around us - look at who just got in - is no way to go.

I'm not in denial - I'm being realistic.

Hillary is simply too old and worn out to be electable. I'm sure if she announced she was running, she'd get the support of some of the 'grey ponytail' crowd, but she's ancient history to Dems in their 40s, 30s, and 20s. She was First Lady when a lot of those folks were in grade school.

A lot of Dems over 50 will probably roll their eyes demand a candidate who stands a real chance of beating the Republican (who we hope will be a dynamic and outspoken conservative). They're not going to be energized and enthused by a Hillary candidacy - again, because she's way past her sell-by date on the national stage.

Don't forget, that after January 2013, she's going to spend four years out of the limelight. How's she supposed to keep herself well positioned for a run at the presidency while she's out of office?

By 2016, Hillary will be old enough to be a great-grandmother. After eight thrilling years of their golden prince, Obama, do you really think they'll be falling over themselves to support an ancient hag for president? I don't.

Isn’t it obvious now that it doesn’t matter what you or I might want? The Demicans will nominate whom they wish and we will be stuck with the bill. Pick up a copy of Hillaire Belloc’s Crisis of Civilization. It’s not very lengthy but it’s packed with usable truth
