President Obama on Sunday said he would make gun control a priority in his new term, pledging to put his "full weight" behind passing new restrictions on firearms in 2013.
"I'm going to be putting forward a package and I'm going to be putting my full weight behind it," Obama said in an interview aired on NBC's "Meet the Press."
"I'm going to be making an argument to the American people about why this is important and why we have to do everything we can to make sure that something like what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary does not happen again."

I wouldn't say it was anti-mormon. Maybe anti-liberal. Romney did sign an 'assault weapon' ban when he was governor.

Romney is a progressive republican-Democrat and Obama is a Democratic Socialist Neo-statist. The real conservative anti-liberal candidate was Michele Bachmann and at the end the best one left was Rick Santorum. Sorry, But Gingrich was flawed.
Another backwards thinker... The Constitution doesn't give rights. It gives limited powers to the federal government.
The States, in Constitutional Convention, gave those limited and listed powers to the federal government.
But the Constitution doesn't give any rights, even if it lists some to make damn sure and certain they don't get stepped on by federal government (not that it helped).

They don’t have enough people or assets to make it to my door or my neighbors door if my weapons are available, functioning and used as they were deigned and built for.
The whole point is to make your Stand before they are at your doorstep. If they are at your doorstep they must have put you to the head of the line.

If they successfully persist in this, they do so in direct violation of the Constitution. They will no longer be one of "us" and should not expect to be treated as such. Instead, they will be seen by many as a domestic tyranny and conquering power - and justly so!
What they are purposely provoking by using the excuse of "mass murder" to take away one of our most bedrock rights is much more likely to end in genuine mass murder than fix that currently minute problem - and if it turns to violence it doesn't much matter which side "wins" in the end.
Civil wars are unbelievably ugly and and bloody. Nobody in their right mind should want one or provoke one. It is a horror that usually burns brightly and indiscriminately until either one side or the other wins and imposes their will on the vanquished by more violence - or until somebody stronger from the outside steps in to stop the carnage. In our case, that is unlikely to happen. However, there would be plenty of vultures circling high to swoop in and feast on the bloody pieces. In every instance, it ends in national and personal agonies with the worst extremes.
But, here these fiends are... encouraging it, courting it, for their own nefarious ends!
If they persist, this will not end well. Not at all. For anybody - except the vultures.

"The Federal Assault Weapons Ban (AWB), or Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act, was a subtitle of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, a federal law in the United States that included a prohibition on the manufacture for civilian use of certain semi-automatic firearms, so called "assault weapons". The 10-year ban was passed by Congress on September 13, 1994, and was signed into law by President Bill Clinton the same day. The ban only applied to weapons manufactured after the date of the ban's enactment.
The law also banned possession of illegally imported or manufactured firearms, but did not ban possession or sale of pre-existing 'assault weapons' or previously factory standard magazines that were legally redefined as large capacity ammunition feeding devices. This provision for pre-ban firearms created higher prices in the market for such items, which still exist due to several states adopting their own assault weapons ban."
Know your history. This time around it is a lot different.
