Grover Norquist, the Americans for Tax Reform president and anti-tax activist who has become a key figure in the ongoing negotiations on the fiscal cliff, took to Twitter as the House was voting Tuesday night to give his blessing to the deal:
"The Bush tax cuts lapsed at midnight last night. Every R voting for Senate bill is cutting taxes and keeping his/her pledge."
"Congress about to make permanent most of the temporary tax cuts that Democrats voted against in 2001 and 2003. Permanent beats temporary."

Why is our nation going down the crapper?
Because no one cares.
Jut another idiot trying to save face and stay relevant.
Just another clown. I am sick to death of these people.
That’s technically true but what a red herring of an argument to spin this as a good outcome. The spending cuts that were to take place also are gone.
This “sunsetting” business has also got to stop - if they want to change something they should be forced to vote on it cleanly so that can’t be used as an excuse or political football.
Who gives a damn what that Dhimmi POS has to say?
Grover’s a homo.
Norquist is the favorite “conservative” by libs and no real conservative/libertarian actually writes for the ComPost.
DUHHH!
All the taxes went up 24+ hours ago and this lowers some of them.
Delusion is not a plan.
Republicans lose fights with O because they act like fools.
lets be clear.....ANY attempt to change the "cuts" will be on them...this is their bill, this is their problem and I say, let them have it....
in the meantime, starve the beast....don't buy unless its out of necessity....increase your ww2 dependents.....cut expenses such as cable, magazines,etc.....
starve the beast!
we're headed into a very dark night....no reason why they need OUR money to do it...
Who is he kidding? The Dems get a majority in the House and "permanent" translates to "nonexistent". Spinning this as a victory is simply not credible.
Dear Grover,
Have you ever heard of “Reduce Spending”?
Your’s Truly,
American Taxpayers.
I feel like I am in the twilight zone. Someone needs to make a YouTube video of the contrast between the horrendous destruction happening every day and the way the press reports it like a fascinating observation while sipping tea and in so many words, acting like Obama means well for us but who knows why things are getting worse? The reality is that Paul Revere needs to be riding his horse and shouting with urgency right now.
There are no tax cuts, just no increases on the 98%. This is absolutely a Crock. How about the 31 hidden taxes in Obamacare that apply to everyone who pays taxes?
This coming from a guy who pals around with Islamic Terrorists
Ok. This was a disaster, but....was there any good to take from it?Eliminating ATM, making Bush tax cuts permanent, taking away Obama’s argument that everything will be fine once the rich are taxed? Anything else? Perhaps the glaring need for a 3rd party?
Don’t forget the 2% payroll tax hike.
Until 2014.
When the Democrats take control of the House.
After Obama mandates Amnesty by Executive Order and creates 11 million new Democrat voters.
The middle class will not be saved by this tax and spend scheme. The middle class not only depends on the upper working class for jobs but also for contracts and supplies. If you add another 5 to 10 percent tax to to the upper class to all the other taxes, such as state, local, obamacare, permits, workers comp., payroll, etc., you are just reducing working capital for hiring, expansion and innovation. This tax will only prevent future job hires and create higher inflation. This does not, in anyway help the middle class. Couple the lack of substantial spending cuts and becomes American Suicide forced upon its people by a morally bankrupt criminal societal entity.
Shameful!
