The Malicious President Tries to Make America Pay
Townhall.com ^ | March 6, 2013 | Ben Shapiro

For years, conservatives have been split on whether President Barack Obama is incompetent or whether he is malicious. Mitt Romney ably made the argument for incompetence during the 2012 election cycle, when he stated that President Obama was. Romney's view symbolized the majority view on the issue.

Until now.

With the advent of sequestration, it is now clear that President Obama is willing to throw Americans under the bus in pursuit of his vision of a transformed America. He is more than content to break eggs to make his utopian omelet. That uncomfortable reality became clear during the sequestration debate when Obama showed zero predilection for actual negotiation, and instead decided to roam the countryside babbling about the End Times should the 2.4 percent reduction to future spending he originally proposed take place.

He framed himself with first responders, teachers and miscellaneous members of the Village People in order to promote the notion that budget cuts strike where it hurts. He trotted out his Department of Homeland Security to proclaim that budget cuts would mean freeing illegal immigrants. He trotted out his Secretary of Education to claim that teachers were already receiving pink slips.

Obama knew that his tactics would not achieve his supposed goal -- more targeted spending cuts rather than the heavy-handed broad-swath cuts automatically taking place under sequestration. But he knew that his tactics could help him achieve his real goal: casting all spending as vital, and all cuts as devastating.

With the implementation of sequestration, however, Obama now has a problem: The cuts will not devastate the American economy. In fact, they would help the economy if we pared away waste in government.

So now Obama has a choice: He can either help the economy and undercut his larger case for spending addiction, or he can cut where it hurts most.

He has chosen to cut where it hurts most. He hasn't chosen to cut the Transportation Security Administration's $50 million uniform makeover. He hasn't chosen to cut grants to develop robotic squirrels for use in research. He's reportedly chosen to cut Medicare funding, military pay, funding for air security, Navy patrols and border patrol agents. The sequestration cuts Obama will implement will hit the poor especially hard. These are the deeds of a man committed to making the American people pay for the sin of fiscal responsibility.

But will Americans buy it? Obama has the press on his side, a compliant media dedicated to painting him as a wronged leader desperately trying to save American jobs in the face of reckless Republican cuts. But Obama invented the sequester. Increasingly, Americans are realizing that the president they have on their hands is more than incompetent. He is ideologically driven to do harm to them, even when he could avoid doing so.

I’ve been hearing the same bs about ‘’Americans are staring to realize Obama is...(fill in the blank) for going on five years now. Who is ‘’staring to realize’’? Aside from most true conservatives no one is ‘’starting to realize’’ what an arrogant Marxist bastard this preening popinjay is.

*******
Any doubters need only to look at the skyrocketing national debt and unsustainable deficits. No one who cares about the country and future generations would spend like that. Digging a hole is one thing; digging a grave is another.

I sympathize with your observation. Maybe “more” realizing will translate into “some” voting to move the country away from the abyss.

Will “some” be “enough”? Don’t know. “Many” are ready with other options, if it does not.

Forget chickens coming home to roost.

We have a pair of Albatross called "Sequester" and "Keystone" zeroing in on Obama (no pun intended)

Obama has canceled all tours of the White House citing the sequester as the reason hoping that fawning sycophants will call their congress critters to complain.

The problem is the White House and the Executive branch are EXEMPTED from the sequester. Obama is just trying to cause as much suffering as possible.

His fawning sycophants that booked family trips in advance to tour the White House were just told to go pound sand and stick their nonrefundable airplane tickets up their collective Obamas.

Obama’s driving the paving truck in front of the Antichrist’s parade car.

When a writer/reporter uses phrases like that, whether on the left or the right, it is a propaganda technique designed to put the reader into the story and make him ‘feel’ as he’s on the side of the angels....IE the shares the point of view the story is written from.

People want to be in the cool kids club. So by saying “People are starting to...” you give the reader a formal invitation to join the club and be a cool kid too.

Insidious? You bet your butt it is. Even when it’s done for the ‘right’ reasons.

If a government agency whose two exclusive responsibilities were
putting up statues of the Cat in the Hat
and developing drugs to save children

and they were facing a budget cut,
they’d publicly and loudly stop developing the drugs.

And no one would question whether they should continue to put up the Cat statues because no one would know about it.

We have been cowed into thinking it is just a few ‘radical Muslim terrorists’ who is at the heart of this war and anyone who disputes their fact, is promptly labeled a racist. It has worked, even some of our fearful and inept republicans have stated...’it is a beautiful religion’. Their candidate, with the help of their media has reported, in little blurbs, that their candidate may have some Muslim roots and their president has escalated this thinking by saying...’The beautiful sound in the world is the call to prayer’, a ‘slip’ in a interview, he is a Muslim, the photos of him in Muslim clothing...all intentional. They had to blur the image that he was anything but a communist. This imagery was especially useful to his base, in that, sixty four percent of black Americans now embrace Islam, another use for claims of racism when needed.

Bingo! I knew it was propaganda as soon as he said "the poor...".

I’ve lived in the D.C. area for 50 years. I think I toured the White House once, never had an inclination to go back for a second tour. No big deal missing a White House tour!

The average person never thinks about stuff like this (and why would they?) but all good writing is, in and of itself, propaganda,

Whenever we read a genuinely informative story and say “My, what a well written piece that was” Guess what? It may have been very informative, but with what information? Was it info you WANTED to hear? Info that ‘made sense’? Info that was factually correct?

Or was it just that the writer was so good at his job that you bought into concepts and ideas that led you to believe you thought that way all along?

Think about that for a bit ;)

Those of you who filed your taxes online, check the pending refund date. They are no longer committing to an approximate timetable.

Obama is going to hold your refund and blame the Republicans for sequestering funds the IRS needs to process it.
