I just received this in a email from the NRA. I also received an email earlier in the day from the NRA that emphatically denies that the NRA will back expanded background checks. This came shortly have a report by NBC went viral. Actually, it wasn't a report, it was a huge lie.

I have no doubts. Liberal gun grabbers don't care about background checks, they care about registration. That is the first step to confiscation.

Try to enforce it.

I believe Chuck's approach is universal registration through universal background checks. That means no more going to the local gun shop and legally buying that new weapon that you've been eyeing. Or it might mean an entirely new black market for guns.

It makes me want to invest in a CNC machine to mill lowers (which is legal for personal use). The only problem with that it is nearly impossible to buy any parts. Then it is nearly impossible to buy any ammo or reloading components. (I just did my daily search for reloading components and struck out again.)

Pretty much. We should fight all of this tooth and nail but the bottom line is guns will be sold privately no matter what they do.

Yep! Registration, confiscation, and then extermination of the owners. This same process has been repeated numerous times throughout history. Why some here are still in denial is beyond.

If serious opposition to them is to be mounted, the first task is to take on and refute the,"We only wish to control crime by getting guns off the street." and "We are trying to stop the killing by taking guns out of the hands of"amateurs", etc.Nothing could be further from the truth. Gun control is people control, pure and simple. That and that alone is what the gun control crowd is after.

just as the sheep bleated,"I don't mind them probing my ass with their fingers or my wife's p***y and ass with their fingers along with my sons and daughters receiving the same treatment if it will make me secure." Granted, there have been no more hi jackings but, by the same token, armed air crewmen/women and the possibility of armed passengers would have the same result. And both their and their wives private parts would not have been violated. Along with their honor being intact. But, who gives a damn about such mundane things as honor and freedom nowadays when we can be "secure". Once the power and control hungry politicians saw that they could get away with publicly raping and sexually assaulting the sheep, they knew that for them the sky was the limit. Just phrase what they wanted to do to the sheep in terms of "Security" and "safety". That, my FRiend is where we are at now. As the voting results of the 2012 election showed, over 51 % of the public says to the Government"Make me secure!" "As long as I am secure, I will gladly be your slave!" The independent, self reliant, responsible American has gone the way of the DoDo bird. A few remain, but they are a dying breed. They are being replaced by the Metro sexual male and the feminized male. I deliberately did not use the pronoun "man", because "men" in the United States of America are becoming scarce as hen's teeth. As manhood vanishes in America, so does America's heritage and culture.

Rich Cutter Avallone Bubba’s Basement

Senate amendment 3276, Sec. 2716, part c.
....Looks like Obama should have read the “Obamacare” law before he signed it,
OR he was so eager to get “Obamacare” that he didn’t care about the “gun owners”
clause that was in it!
So, Obama was either stupid for not reading the bill OR knew the clause was necessary
to get his “Obamacare” passed, so that his ego could soar! Stupid is more like it!!
Wednesday, it was discovered that hidden deep within the massive 2800-page bill called Obamacare,
there is a Senate Amendment protecting the right to keep and bear arms.
It seems that in their haste to cram socialized medicine down the throats of the American people,
then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Barack Hussein Obama overlooked
Senate amendment 3276, Sec. 2716, part c.
According to that amendment, the government cannot collect “any information relating to
the lawful ownership or possession of a firearm or ammunition.”
This means that the government CANNOT mandate firearm registration.
No registration, no confiscation . Poor ol’ Joe Biden, he spent the last couple of weeks
focusing on making a law requiring registration.
Good thing is though, the amendment also states that not even an executive order can override the amendment.
CNN is now referring to it as “a gift to the nation’s powerful gun lobby.”
And according to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), that’s exactly right.
He says he personally added the provision in order to keep the NRA from getting involved
in the legislative fight over Obamacare, which was so ubiquitous in 2010.
It looks like Harry Reid actually helped out firearm owners without even realizing it. Thanks Harry!!

TRUTHORFICTION
Senate Amendment to Obamacare Protects Law Biding Gun Owners-Truth!

Summary of the eRumor:
This is a forwarded email that alleges that an amendment to the Affordable Care Act passed in 2009 prohibits the government from collecting information from patients regarding “the lawful ownership or possession of a firearm or ammunition.”

The Truth:
Hidden deep within Obamacare there is an amendment that protects our Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms. This according to a January 10, 2013 Fox News article.

Amendment 3276 - Senate Health Care Bill Amendment is real and says:
None of the authorities provided to the Secretary under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act or an amendment made by that Act shall be construed to authorize or may be used for the collection of any information relating to—
``(A) the lawful ownership or possession of a firearm or ammunition;
``(B) the lawful use of a firearm or ammunition; or
``(C) the lawful storage of a firearm or ammunition.

restrain the people; it is an instrument for the

This only applies to a limited segment of the government, not all of it. The fight is still real.

I have no doubts. Liberal gun grabbers don't care about background checks, they care about registration. That is the first step to confiscation.

If background checks only applied to checking the background of the buyer and didn't list the type and serial number of the gun I would be more amiable toward it. We have background checks now and I do not like this part of it.
