Conservatives Support for Marriage Equality Growing [retread zig zag zot!]
Human Rights Campaign ^ | Maureen McCarty

Today Meghan McCain and Margaret Hoover paired up to pen an op-ed for USA Today, calling on conservatives to support marriage equality.

In the article, McCain and Hoover outline the inevitable demise of anti-LGBT organizations and leadership, as country continues to shift support toward marriage equality.

They wrote:

Marriage is marriage, whether a person is straight or gay.

Marriage also promotes outcomes that we as conservatives should support: stable homes, with committed couples who take care of themselves without government intrusion. We know the benefits to society from healthy marriages, and we celebrate them. Our fellow Republicans should be strengthening this great institution--not stifling it with roadblocks.

Indeed marriage equality is largely becoming a bipartisan momentum across the country.

A record number of Americans--58 percent--support marriage equality. Just last week Ohio Republican Rob Portman reversed his own position to now support marriage equality legislation. And over 100 Republicans filed an amicus brief calling on the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn California’s Proposition 8....

“Marriage is marriage, whether a person is straight or gay.”

I agree, I just don’t see how you can redefining marriage to include unions between members of the same sex. You might then as well include unions among different species. Or even people and objects. They are all just as incapable of producing families together.

This is indeed the underlining key here, and we should commit ourselves to the moral printable that Sodomy is nether normal nor an acceptable practice.

This is most critical for members of our own family, as accepting of this decease is the downfall of individuals, families, and civilization.

Never give your blessing or acknowledgement to anyone’s profession to union in Sodom.

Always remind them that this is a deases that is self-destructive not only to them but the family and civilization that support it. Tell them that his is why you can never give any blessing or support to such a sinful relationship and only continue to give condemnation.

I couldn’t care less what polls say.

Except they've been dead accurate lately. Pre-vote polls were a Bullseye on the immoral vote in my state of Washington last November, even as we bitter clingers east of the Cascades rejected it.

Yeah, he had two threads up at the same time.
Wonder who he is.
I’m sure both of us have run across him before.

My larger point is that polls mean nothing in a nation where people are under false delusions about issues.
If you took an honest poll in North Korea, you’d find the people truly do believe anything good that happens to them is the result of the Dear Leader. America is getting dumber. It’s been exposed, on camera, just how stupid the nation’s youth are, and these are the people overwhelmingly supporting this crap. They’ve been asked simple questions and have had no clue. No surprise, when we have a president who doesn’t know how many states are in the union.

Anyone who isn't sure about what they think of McCain should take another painful look at his daughter.

I can't imagine raising a child that would behave like that.

I wouldn’t trust anything ABC says nor what the Washington Compost says - let alone together.

I think she’s the direct result of him.
*yikes*

Makes one wonder what would have been if he’d actually been sworn in as president.
[Probably more of the same!]

I wonder that myself. How much better off would we be now? We'll never know.

I do believe that we would be better off, but then I can't imagine us being much worse off than we are now. I say that not because I believe that things aren't going to get much, much worse, but because I know who we have and where we are going.
