McCain: 'I don't understand' GOP filibuster on guns
Politico ^ | April 7, 2013 | Jennifer Epstein

Sen. John McCain says he doesn't understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns.

"I don't understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.”

"What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?" McCain said on CBS's "Face the Nation."

Sen. John McCain, one of Conservatives worst enemies!
In short, the GOP is full of VILE members who'll sell us out in a heartbeat!

Here are the ones that I know about.
What do we do when our side is full of TRAITORS?
I submit the following for proof.

Check out this link, "Senate Republicans Willfully and Knowingly Lie to Their Constituents (vote to fund Obamacare)".

McCain: 'I don't understand' GOP filibuster on guns

And that is exactly why it is time to go, Sen. McCain.

If you understood, you would be behind him.

However, it is no longer your station to fulfill the oath taken by every Senator and President to uphold The Constitution.

When one of those two is not fulfilling the obligation of the oath, the other must.

Time to go Mr. McCain.

OK, one more time.

Tell me again how “conservatives” are going to protect my rights?

The only men with balls I see in the US Senate now are the “libertarians” I see derided here on FR.

Amen-term limits might keep them from getting deeply entrenched in the network of favors for money and influence, which would make getting rich and famous at our expense harder for a potential sellout to do.

Because the power of congress to abridge the right to keep in bare arms stop being debatable on December 15, 1791.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Bill_of_Rights#Ratification_process

Why should we allow you to entertain usurpation of our rights? We don’t want to have to fight Washington for our rights.

Bills like this are illegitimately debatable only in the legislators of States that lack a second amendment equivalent in their state constitution.

Perhaps democrat John McCain should spend more time reading about his job instead of trampling upon our rights.

WRONG-O, JOHNNY! The purpose of our elected representatives is to go to DC and VOTE ON BEHALF ON THE PEOPLE WHO SENT YOU!! We elect representitives to REPRESENT, NOT RULERs!

"I don't understand it,"

That's okay Juan. I don't understand brain surgery. But you don't hear me whining about it. I leave it to the experts. Perhaps you should do likewise.

I honestly believe that the Hoarse Whisperer is functionally illiterate.

After an illustrious Navy career of smashing up expensive aircraft and getting his ass captured this clown has done nothing of value. He did, as John F—cking Kerry did by marrying someone with lots of money to finance his sorry-assed political ambitions.

He is what is wrong with the Republicrat Party!

Hey John, it’s not the debate we’re afraid of.

The libs (and I count you among them) have already drawn their conclusions and have crafted the debate questions to suit those conclusions.

Everything we’re seeing today is optics.

I can understand how the filibuster made your cranky though; probably kept you up through nap time, quiet time, puzzle time, Wheel of Fortune, and those reruns of JAG you enjoy so much.

Thank you Senator McCain for your long history of service. Now get off the stage before we install that trap door.

John McCain, ever the liberal democrat.

I will break Free Republic tradition, and celebrate his death on the obituary thread, when someday he passes.

Dude is the most liberal democrat I have seen in a while. I am seriously glad he did not get elected President. Better that we have a labeled liberal democrat, then one who would have damaged the Republican brand for decades.

You are supposed to listen to the people and serve the people not the government.

More importantly than that, he's supposed to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic.

He's NOT supposed to become one of those enemies.

Where in the right tit of Odin did you ever get the utterly mistaken impression that John McCain is 'conservative', or that anyone here says he is???!?

Which is more intelligent: Senator McCain or a box of rocks?

There's a box of rocks in my office here ... when they saw McCain's picture on this thread, here, they all screamed "He's a real IDJIT!!!"

I the foolishness of my youth, I once thought that “Hey, I’m no McCain fan, but at least if he had beaten Obama, he’d have been a seat warmer until we found something better!”

I was way off.

I now see that he’s Obama-Lite.

The two of them have become nearly interchangeable.

How long until we can declare him senile and put him in a home, you know, for his own protection?

He stopped making sense ages ago.

You joined in August of last year, so you should know how to post if it is sarcasm, which I don’t think it was until you made the above tacky post.

"The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.”

Exactly backwards. The purpose of the Senate is to know where the People stand and vote accordingly.
