ANY PARENT that permits their kids to be at such a level of risk to have them IN A TENT with someone that might be a flamer, should have their kids removed from their custody.

18 Should have said "secular, not Observant Jews"; but it didn't.

Inaccurate. The National Jewish Committee on Scouting is very religious - principally Reformed and Conservative branches of American Judaism.

Stop huffing and puffing.

I know more about scouting than you for sure. I don’t cover my eyes to the reality like you do. BSA will go the same route that the girls have, and it will happen quickly. Infiltration has nullified what scouting once was.

24 The observant Jews can be with their own type, true Christians. We are all in this together.

Not so. American Judaism is split among at least 6 branches. The 2 largest are Reformed and Conservative. They both perform homosexual marriage.

So you are saying then all American Jews are OK with homosexuality?

This section is poorly written.

I read that SCC was deeply disturbed that the BSA would even CONSIDER allowing gays. This is why they were ending their charter with BSA. To the SCC, there was NO debate - gays & scouts do not mix.

This is the way to deal with perversion - there is NO debate, it is evil. When you agree to debate, you are tacitly agreeing there is something to debate, & place yourself at peril that you may lose that debate, not because you are wrong, but because you are out talked.

Fundamental morality is not debatable & cannot be changed by clever words.

Don’t know that it would do any good. Anybody remember what YMCA once stood for?

30 What organized alternatives are there to BSA?

Do a search on FR with the keyword: Boy Scouts. Lots of great posts with good recommendations by Freepers. The short list ...

OnMyHonor.net
Royal Ambassadors
Christian Service Brigade
Royal Rangers
Marine Corps League
AWANA
Calvinist Cadet Corps
Pathfinder
Young Minutemen of America

Do not consider the Baden-Powell Scout Association. It is inclusive of open homosexuals.

Everything runs its course. When reform is needed, then that is the issue. We do it for our kids, their future and ours.

If I am not mistaken, the 2 biggest church sponsors of scouting are the Catholics and the Mormons (and don't start; this is about scouting) (and, no, I am NOT a Mormon).

Based on past experience I can see the former temporizing and ultimately caving in as it has on the issue of proabortion Catholic politicians. The latter, though, may show more backbone, withdraw from the BSA, and start their own male youth program.

Withdrawal of the Mormons will hit the BSA right where it hurts so I hope they do it. Withdrawal of the Catholics would be the right thing to do but so would denying communion to the likes of Pelosi and Biden but all the Catholic Church ever does is huff and puff so I am not hopeful.

36 It has been brough to my attention that the BSA has a Congressional Charter making it illegal for other youth groups to have “Scout” in their name or say they engage in “Scouting.” Time to end the Charter. They also get special tax treatment in almost all (if not all) states. Time to end it.

BSA was granted the charter in 1916. And yes, you are right. However, Girl Scouts-USA were granted their charter in 1950. Amid dissatisfaction with the system, the subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee decided to discontinue issuing Congrssional charters in 1992. BSA still honors the terms of its charter, primarily delivering an annual report to members of Congress. The Baden-Powell Scout Association became a registered corporation in the U.S. and was issued federal non-profit organization status, operating the 1st Tarrant Scout Group in TX.

66 So you are saying then all American Jews are OK with homosexuality?

Not at all - just the 2 largest "denomnations." The smaller Orthodox branch does not perform homosexual marriages and seems to be very much at the other end of social spectrum from the Reformed and Conservative (who are not conservative by Freeper understanding).

The whole plan is to empty out the organization and replace it with leftists.

Same with our military.

Nearly a decade and a half ago I and the church of which I am a part was part of the first wave of exodus out of the elca. It was clear even then that those who wanted change had already taken into account there would be losses, perhaps significant losses. Those losses were acceptable to them to achieve the change they sought.

It is no different within the BSA.

This may be the last time I capitalize “BSA.” Like the elca, it may prove undeserving of the respect of using capitol letters.

The National Jewish Committee on Scouting is very religious - principally Reformed and Conservative branches of American Judaism.

Reformed and Conservative branches are the ultraliberals and the liberals. Bible-believing Jews are Orthodox. There is also an ultra-Orthodox sect called Hasidim. But even when I was growing up among Jews in the 50s, Reformed Jews ate pork and many were members of the Communist Party. Conservatives were pretty much assimilated Democrats. And that was then.

I say this with great respect for genuinely religious Jews who are family-supportive and socially conservative; I live near a huge Orthodox community even now, and know the difference. I also might add that most mainstream Protestant churches now are just social clubs, where the gospels or any sort of religious zeal are an embarrassment.

Did these delegates not think such exodus would not happen? Who are these men and did they not listen to the churches who sponsor them or was this decision made in a vacuum?
