IRS should be hiring auditors, not gunslingers...?
The only time rounds escaped our range was when feds were shooting...
IRS, EPA, HHS, ABC, and XYZ should not be armed in this manner. The sheriff should be used for anything requiring arrest.
That’s OK. They can’t be sued.
Enforcement agencies are horrible with this sort of thing. Our county agengy has had a few incidences.
I know of no one in the Marine Corps who had an accidental discharge who did not suffer the loss of pay, pay grade and possible brig time. And as it should be.
If other agencies took this as the standard, there would be very few incidences. Of course, the caliber of most people who are recruited into policing agencies now are hardly what I would call the cream of the crop.
I agree. Obama is arming everyone in the government.
Honestly, just 11 incidents in 3 years, with mostly only mild property damage as a result, is probably among the best records for government bodies with tens of thousands of armed personnel in this century.
I knew of one Skipper.
Sharp guy, always tactical, instructed more than his fair share of grunts throughout the Corps, dedicated grunt,....cleaning his Colt Commander at the office, letting the slide go home and POP... in an office of about 15 other senior field grades. He had to report directly to the bird Colonel and was pretty sheepish for about a month after that.
There are probably 11 accidental Discharges a day by 2nd Lieutenants.
Wed keep asking the silly question if the US Armed Forces will ever open fire on Americans? Who needs USAF when we have fully trained and armed forces attached to just about every agency of the Fed?!
How convenient, now the IRS can handle both death and taxes. Real one stop shopping.
Or are they just waxing the rocket on the outside?
To paraphrase a line from “Dirty Harry”, I think it’s a disgrace that an accountant should even KNOW how to use such weapons! /s;)
Great !
Now we have accountants with guns
What could go wrong .. ?
Barney Fife .. with one bullet !
Not to worry. They have plenty more bullets.
This is very taxing.
The skipper indubitably asked the same question of himself a 1000 times over.
That’s why the best policy is to always consider it loaded prior to touching it, then always making a complete safe weapon before cleaning.
