Over the past weeks, we have learned the National Security Agency has the capability to produced throughout the world.

Today, ProPublica reports that when it comes to parsing email sent by its own employees, the United States' spy agency does not have the technology for it.

At least that's what the investigative outfit said the NSA told them in response to a Freedom of Information Act request.

:

"'There's no central method to search an email at this time with the way our records are set up, unfortunately,' NSA Freedom of Information Act officer Cindy Blacker told me last week.

"The system is 'a little antiquated and archaic,' she added.

"I filed a request last week for emails between NSA employees and employees of the National Geographic Channel over a specific time period. The TV station had aired a on the NSA and I want to better understand the agency's public-relations efforts.

"A few days after filing the request, Blacker called, asking me to narrow my request since the FOIA office can search emails only 'person by person,' rather than in bulk. The NSA has more than .

Your “not satire” was way too mild a warning. Someone could choke and die reading this. The NSA has chutzpa.

Yep. The system they have in place is to intimidate every business in the information sector to record everything and allow them access whenever they want to demand it.

Not unlike the City of Detroit, where they don't bother to send you a tax bill, they send you a notice of violation. You must now pay this amount by this date. OR ELSE! It doesn't say any swear words at all, you just feel them hidden in the fonts.

The NSA has chutzpa.

No, it just shows they are just another tone deaf megalomaniacal federal agency.

They should just ask the UK to check their records.

It’s not funny. They are laughing at you and me. They think they are unassailable so are taunting us.

They’re lying. Of course they can search their own email.
What they are saying is that
they simply aren’t going to.

They’re lying. Of course they can search their own email.

Only someone who has no knowledge of the US Government and has never had a government e-mail address and how it works would automatically conclude they are lying.

I've never worked for the NSA, but I absolutely believe them on this.

The person presenting this NSA position is a damn LIAR!

I know first hand just how capable their search capabilities are.

The fact they are on secure, dedicated systems, with limited and controlled access, means that traceability is easier, not more difficult.

I do not believe for one second that NSA can not search their own emails.
It is long past the point of believing statements coming out of the federal government.
I can't recall any statement on policy from the Serial Liar in the White House that wasn't an absolute lie.
IRS and NSA officials routinely lie to congressional committees.
With these brazen examples of dishonesty at the highest levels of government setting the example just when does society collapse?
Clearly this would satisfy the commie agenda.
The DC federal government is the most powerful crime syndicate in history because, unlike the Mafia, DC makes the laws for us, but they break their own laws with impunity when it serves their purpose, and We The People can not escape their reach.
This does not end well.

“The system is ‘a little antiquated and archaic,’ she added.”

Not as antiquated and archaic as most small business computer set ups and I know that they can search their own emails.

This administration really counted on most Americans being incredibly stupid didn't they? Time and again they roll out statements that just floor me with how stupid they assumed we are.

If it weren't so awful for my beloved United States, I'd laugh and laugh....
