GOP immigration remark ‘unfortunate’

For this Administration, "unfortunate" = "truthful"

Unfortunate... unfortunate is obama and all off the cancer he has spread throughout the body of Lady Liberty. The White House of today is a BLACK MARK on the HISTORY OF AMERICA.

Mark Levin just stated that for every hard working illegal student that makes good grades and is trying to go to college and make something of him or herself... there are 100 dope selling, gang banging, crime ridden, rapist pack mules for the cartels. He was just a slight bit kinder with his vernacular.

White House press secretary Jay Carney said the comments from Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, "were extremely unfortunate, and I think a number of people have pointed out that they were offensive."

"They certainly don't help any efforts by Republicans to improve their standing among Hispanic Americans, I would assume," Carney told reporters aboard Air Force One as the president traveled to deliver an economic speech in Galesburg, Ill.

Who on earth is Jay Carney to lecture congressional Republicans on how their statements and positions may influence the GOP's standing with Hispanic voters? The 'Rats think that they can goad the GOP House into supporting an amnesty plan for illegal aliens by playing on their fears of "losing" the Hispanic vote. Enough Republicans, hopefully, will see this condescending ploy on the part of the 'Rats for what it is, and stick to principle rather than cave in on amnesty.

Of course, Carney is oversimplifying the situation. There are many illegal aliens who aren't Hispanic at all and many Hispanic voters who are as dead set against amnesty for illegals as we are.

But most, over 70 percent, are from Latin American countries.

60 percent are Mexican nationals.

A gaffe is when a politician accidentally tells the truth.

-Michael Kinsley

I suppose it was "unfortunate" because Rep. King's truth-telling is by design.

Unfortunately, Goodlatte, Gowdy, et. al. are taking their directions from La Raza, LULAC, and their supplicants in Congress.

I think we have a new stupid party.

I still don’t understand Rubio’s coddling of Illegals.

Rubio’s Parents were Refugees from Communism. Cuban refugees have a totally different motivation for emigrating to American that do the millions of illegals who penetrate the border to exploit and plunder the good will of America.

I am certain Rubio’s family came here to contribute to American Culture, to become legal as soon as possible, and to work towards becoming Americans in the true sense of the word. They succeeded...they have a son who has become a United States Senator and have become truly integrated into Our American Culture.

So why is Rubio supporting those who enter our country ILLEGALLY, exploit our resources and generosity, commit crimes, and generally cause havoc and instability? Why is it assumed that the GOP has to embrace illegals in order to secure the “Hispanic Vote”?

I would think that those Citizens who have roots in latin America or the Caribbean would be just as concerned about illegals destroying this country as any other Citizen.

A common language does not necessarily determine common VALUES. It is insulting to assume that American Citizens of “Hispanic” lineage prefer the interests of illegal aliens to the interests of the Nation, just because they speak the same language.

Just to clarify things a bit; I am not Hispanic, but I do live in Florida, and voted for Rubio, much to my chagrin. And although I am mostly Native American (MiQ’Maw and Inuit), I do not vote according to race, but according to solid conservative principals. If an Indian ran as a liberal, he would NOT get my vote!

You still don't get it? They've been telling you for years and years.

Por La Raza todo, Fuera de La Raza nada.

Wake up.

Rubio was a Tea Party favorite.

he changed his tune. We all feel betrayed.

I am awake. Please don’t attack your fellow conservatives. Nothing will be achieved that way.

And my question was rhetorical.

Give Obama a break——it’s hard to get it right when he’s on his knees, all puckered up, sucking-up, desperately begging illegals for votes.......

Poor guy is scared stiff Dems are gonna lose the Senate.

Keynote 2012 Dem convention speaker, "Saint" Benita Veliz, told a sap-happy Dem crowd that she was "from San Antonio, Texas,” that she was "like so many Americans. I was brought here as a child," Veliz said. "I've been here ever since."

However, her profile on the activist website dreamactivist.org reveals that she came to the United States from Mexico at age 8 on a tourist visa and that her family then illegally overstayed ...

HAPPILY EVER AFTER The family settled in with no visible means of support....and were "forced" to swindle the US govt...... using multiple identities to get educated, housed, clothed, fed, transported, medicated, drugged-up, armed and ready--w/ your tax dollars.

================================================

In 2009, little Benita allegedly rolled through a stop sign and when stopped by a police officer, Veliz had a Mexican consular card.....but no driver's license. She was booked in jail overnight, and immigration authorities started deportation proceedings against her......

....but she's still here, breaking laws and riding the US gravy train

So if the stupid Repubs pass reform (AKA as The Kids Act), little Benita will have to use one of her other identities-----one that has no criminal record attached to it....yet.

After all these years, the family is still sucking-up mucho US tax dollars, UI checks, welfare checks, disability checks, EITC refunds, etc etc etc. ....using multiple identities....probably laundering money---and wiring it back to secret Mexican bank accounts.

While Bohner’s and Cantors PC canned reaction (right out of sensitivity class) was pathetic,
I fail to understand Kings point.

Let's say King was right and out of every 10 kids brought here nine are the criminals he suggests and only 1 of 10 are the A student boy scout Priests alter-boy hard workers who walks grannies across the streets , then why does he insist on treating them BOTH exactly the same as each other, criminals?

It doesn't add up. I find it hard to believe he is serious about this.

My best guess is that King confused the Dreamers and the Wetbacks, something like what you said, and misspoke about the ratio of drug smugglers (since I am posting on FR, let’s just say that’s my opinion). Leftists can get away with being wrong and then digging in, but not conservatives. AFAIK King has not changed his claim.

One possible effect is that embarrassed, cowardly GOP House members will be afraid to oppose any House Dreamer proposal. Not good.

RE :”One possible effect is that embarrassed, cowardly GOP House members will be afraid to oppose any House Dreamer proposal. Not good.”

If given citizenship they will vote Dem.

And the other bad alternative regarding this statement is they GOP sound like xenophobic white supremacists who claim that ALL Hispanics are drug running criminals even if they got all As in high school and now are in college after being brought here as kids.(hell they stole that HS education I get told)

Expect 2016 to be an ugly year.

Its a lose lose game for GOP and I see nothing good here.

The Senate bill was easy as its total crap,

I don't see any other GOP members following King's example. It could become old news in a couple of weeks, although of course some Dems will keep beating the dead horse. However, who else in the GOP has the balls to fight hard against making illegals citizens/voters?

My congressman keeps complaining about obamacare, IRS, Benghazi, etc. but posted a picture of himself and a pro-amnesty lobbyist on his facebook page today. After I made my "WTF?!?" call to his office, I printed out the page and gave copies to my neighbors. Also emailed the image to my insurance agent, also a constituent.
