Posted on 07/27/2013 6:04:05 PM PDT by Mary Litwin
Swampsniper is in the hospital. We called 911 this morning at 1AM. He is OK for the most part. Just really scared us. He is in room 4023 in Flagler here locally. He asked me to let you know what was going on. He should be coming home soon, and I may have over-reacted but I'd rather err on that side of caution in this case.
Semper Fi Swamp, and get well quick.
Please tell your dad we are thinking about him! And looking forward to more excellent photos when he feels up to posting some more.
Thank you for letting us know, Mary Litwin. I join in earnest prayer for you, Swampsniper!
I hope they don’t make him shave when he’s in there —
Prayers for SWAMPSNIPER.
Prayers Up for your brother!
I have seen your dad around here for over 10 years and Imma pray for him, kay?
You’re a great daughter for doing this —thanks..!
IMHO you did not overreact. We are all grateful when our worst fears are not realized. And we are grateful if that which we fear comes to pass, that we have afforded the extra time that might be required by acting quickly.
Blessings to you, and Swampsniper, and your family
in my prayers.
Prayers needed for a great freeper. In the hospital, please pray for the removal of symptoms, and a restoration of his health.
Ping your lists, and blame it on me!
Will keep him in my prayers, Mary!
I join in prayer.
Mary, you did NOT overreact! You did the right thing.
Prayers for your Dad’s complete recovery. Please let us know, if you will, when there are any updates.
Tell him we’re all praying for him and for his family.
Joining in with prayers up for our FRiend.
Best wishes for your dad. You did the right thing. Thank you for letting us know.
Thanks for letting us know. Get him well and get him back here!
We really love him here. Will say prayers for him to be fully healed ASAP.
Hello! and prayers up! Thank you so much for letting us know, and please do keep us posted, if it is not too much trouble : / We will most definitely keep SS, (and you all!) in our prayers.
Please tell him to take it easy, and that we hope to be able to pray him home before any of his critters get to missing him, and we get to missing the beautiful pictures of them :)
May God keep watch,
Prayers up for Swampsniper and family. I hope he’s all better soon!
Good morning Swampsniper,
HOope you feel better soon.
Prayers for your health.
Thanks Mary Litwin
Prayers for sniper.
Prayers being sent.
Get well soon, FRiend.
Not a problem. If it’s serious enough for him to be in the hospital, that they decided to keep him, then it’s plenty serious enough to post a prayer thread for.
They don’t keep people who they don’t think need it.
Prayers up that you’ll be home soon, Swampsniper! Prayers for your family as well - obviously, they are a blessing to you.
Prayers up! Hope he’s ok.
Prayers for him.
Prayers going up for your dad. Please keep us updated when you can.
Welcome to FR, thanks for the head’s up.
Minor question: Who broke SWAMPSNIPER?
It was the pets, wasn’t it?
They broke their hyooman...
/ bad joke
Prayers from the swamp of Ct.
Saying prayers for our Swamp-master. May this setback be just a blip in the road for a good man. Tell him that I will not accept a day without his beautiful pictures to pick me up.
How’s he doing?
I have tried to check the thread for an update on my Florida FRiend Swampsniper, maybe I missed it.
I hope that there is good news about his recovery. I will keep checking...
Please tell him I am wishing him well. 3D-Joy
On the instruction sheet I got checking out some of my old prescriptions are listed as do not continue use of this, discard remaining supply.
What ever it was I couldn't walk and ended up getting 2 units of blood thru my carotid early on Saturday.
Damn computer broke 2, SIL is out looking for parts or cheap temp unit,so I won't take his computer over by force.
Please keep us all posted...you will be able to go back and see how many FReeper friends you have. Many will have been away or busy and just got the news today!
Good luck with the computer.
Take care. You are missed.
Friday AM I woke up with my feet hurting really bad. Leg pains are a known side effect of the drugs I take for my lungs so I figured I would just pee in my emergency jug and sleep until the pain moved somewhere else. It never did, just got a lot worse and I started running a fever. Tried to get up and fell back on the bed. I got SIL Steve to pick up all 225 pounds of me and get me on the john before I did an Al Roker. I wasn't able to stand up and get back to bed. Daughter Mary figured I was about to leave this world on a porcelain throne and she called 911. The EMT crew had to haul me off the pot and out the front door cross country to the damned ambulance, in the damned dark. She rode in the ambulance with me.
Got to the hospital I think about midnite and they started sticking needles and wires all over the place. Then I heard them order 3 units of blood, I was all dried up.
I've been taking stuff for fluid retention, I think they gave me too much, way too much, I showed 15% kidney function at the hospital. Since I got hydrated they seem to be coming back on line, X rays and tests didn't show any serious obvious things, just well used 71 year old parts.
A new doctor came in and told me I couldn't walk because I had the wildest case of Gout he had ever seen, my feet were packed with Uric acid crystals. It hurts so bad you don't want the air to touch your feet, you just simply can't walk.
No more pee pills for me, I'll just go ahead and swell up until I bust.
I'm weak as a kitten didn't really get any sleep or food in the hospital. They torment you awake and the food is inedible and your talking to someone who can live in the woods on what I can catch with my hands. I can open a tray of hospital food and the scent just turns my stomach, I don't know how they manage to ruin it like that.
Missy has been raising Hell because Mary moved the kitty treats I keep by the computer and I couldn't find them. She got in my lap, stuck her head in my armpit and started moaning at me. I told her to go find Mary and she went marching out with her tail twitching, back in five minutes, grandson said Mary was taking a nap. She just got up and found the kitty snacks so it's a little bit calmer in here.
I'm gonna sleep some, then I've got to figure out how to make windows 8 work or replace it with win 7. In it's present oem form it's a sick joke.
I imagine my sense of humor will come back someday but I'm not betting on it.
Welcome back S, glad you’re feeling “better, I hope”.
Sometimes side effects of meds are most of people’s problems, IMHO.
Sometimes finding the right specialist doctor can work wonders. With my father, I find it’s hit or miss with docs. Some fantastic, others, gotta know when to replace them.
It never ceases to amaze me how they don’t seem very precise in their analysis, don’t seem to think about what patients eat, etc. Seems important to health to me, but I’m not a doc.
I can’t help you with Windoze.
Any of your kids or locals down there know about Linux ?
It’s great to have you back, Swampsniper.
