While promoting her new film, "Lee Daniels' The Butler," Winfrey relayed an anecdote about being a victim of racism to Entertainment Tonight. "I say to the woman, 'Excuse me, may I see that bag right above your head?' And she says to me, 'No, it's too expensive.' … She refused to get it."
Those are Oprah's exact words -- all told within the context of racism still being a very real problem for black people throughout the world.
During the interview, though, Oprah also refused -- and this will be important later -- to identify the store.

And what is Oprah's reaction to being called a liar by a racist? Well, it certainly isn't the reaction of someone who was the victim of racism and then called a liar by the racist.
No, when confronted with the shop girl's charge, Oprah issued a non-apology apology saying she was "sorry" the incident "got blown up."
Well, who blew it up? While promoting the movie, Oprah also shared the anecdote with Larry King. Obviously, this anecdote is part of Oprah's "Butler" promotional tour.
If we had a media worth a damn, it is right about now that they would be all over this.
1. As I said yesterday, isn't it just a little "too neat" that while promoting a film with a heavy racial theme that Oprah pulls a "this racism just happened to me" anecdote out of a $38,000 purse?
2. Why didn't Oprah want to announce to the world the name of a store that practices racism? Would that make the story too easy to check?
3. I repeat: Why isn't Oprah outraged that a practicing racist just called her a liar in front of the whole world?

Well she did give fee cars to her audience and some school stuff in Africa.
Her story is total boo chit!
I shop at some rather expensive places and have had conversations with clerks.
I too have been looking at one thing and spying another asked to see it. Sometimes the clerk makes me aware of the cost difference.
I have two.clerks I regularly shop with and they will let me know about an extraordinary difference in cost, while there isn’t much difference in the product.
In fact, I was shopping for a watch a couple years back and had one in my hand that I was just about to purchase. I saw another that was similar and asked to see it. The salesperson and told me the price difference, which was about $4k more than the one I was holding.
I took one look at it and decided that $4k wasn’t worth it and I don’t care for rose gold anyway.
Last year a friend was shopping at Escada Rodeo Drive with her personal shopper. She had a similar experience.
The shopper had laid out her requests so when she showed up she could shop with expediency.
Well, she saw another item that wasn’t in her request. It cost $30k. That was $10k over her budget.
She shops there frequently and only with this shopper. He informed her of the cost and she simply said “okay”.
Well, she purchased the items she wanted and as the shopper was readying them to be steamed out and shipped she stepped over to the item that had caught her eye.
The shopper advised her to step away and she responded she was only looking.
Next thing, she says she’ll take that as well.
He tried to talk her out of it and just laughed and asked it be shipped to a different location.
This stuff happens all the time and I appreciate shoppers who advise and inform.
In fact, I have a briefcase by Burberry that a shopper once tried to talk me out of buying.
I was high on myself and bought it anyway. Kinda dumb, as I rarely use it.
Oprah lied and twisted the events all for ego and partly for the PR it created for her movie.
I was going to see it as I am a fan of Forrest Whitaker.
But, due to Oprah’s crap and the directors bunk accusations I won’t see it, ever. Not even on dvd.
Oprah calls it her "black card." Presumably because she's "not a racist."
I had planned to see it because the story sounded interesting and I also like Forrest Whitaker, but due to Oprah’s lying racism, I will pass on it now. Too bad he had to cast her in the movie.
and I missed three episodes of Duck Dynasty.
She made up the story trashing a poor salesgirl and now is busted for lying.

Looking back, it was my once in a lifetime “Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman moment” (before the movie was made), when I tracked down my large walking bank vault,walked back to the store, and flashed the cash I had meant to spend on a rarely asked for and very expensive item!
Oprah just got caught lieing her ass off, internationally, and her non-apology apology is not going to cut it.
Next time she pretends someone is “discriminating” against her based on color, she should make certain she flashes the Black AMEX card, not the less than useless race card.
Very few people are accepting that card anymore.

I went into a fine watch shop, because they sold Heublot.
My all time "wish for" is a rose-gold Heublot Big Bang. I'd never seen one in person. They run roughly 25K with the full gold band/rhodium bezel.
Anyhow, I asked about the watch, and boy were those clerks snooty.
Hey I don't have Oprah money, but I'm not "poor" by any stretch of the imagination.

I seem to remember a white American liberal trying to get his grubby hands on the Swiss accusing them of collaborating with White Apartheid in South Africa. The precedent given was the jewish gold they had hoarded and kept because the families did not have the proper death certificates after Aushwitz. The Swiss told him to go f himself in polite ways.
