Smarts don’t always equate to common sense. In the case of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), there is an inverse relationship between the two. I’m told by smart lawyers that he has a sharp legal mind, can think on his feet and has remarkable recall for facts, cases and even page numbers of the briefs. But his political judgment has become distorted by ambition.
Interestingly, he no longer is touting the line that Republicans unwilling to join the suicide squad ”own” Obamacare. Perhaps someone told him that among the obnoxious and untrue things he has said, this ranks at the top and will put him crosswise with a majority of those GOP senatorial candidates running in 2014.
A Cruz presidential run into 2016 would be interesting, if not downright amusing. An early rebuke in his young career might be a beneficial dose of cold water — or devastating to a pol who, even among senators, is excessively convinced of his own exceptionalism.
Cruz is not the guy to build the party or a governing majority (which requires moderate Republicans). But he is just the person to build up Ted Cruz. In fact, he is masterful.

Sounds like the GOP does not want to have a GOP President. I bet if you ask the GOP, they would preferred David Dewhurst (John Cornyn’s twin)to Ted Cruz. Senator Cruz is one of the best things to “happen” to the GOP. Only problem is that the GOP does not see it.

At Teds birth he did! A natural born Citizen is never born a dual citizen at birth like Ted was. Dual Citizens at birth are not natural born Citizens eligible for the presidency.
Sorry to disappoint you, but Cruz’s father was not a US citizen at the time of Cruz’s birth, thus both of Cruz’s parents were not American citizens as they are expected to be for natural born citizens. Plus the fact that Cruz was not born in the US. Canada’s immigration laws would come into play too. Obama is not a natural born citizen because his father was not an American citizen at the time of his birth. By having a non-citizen parent, the child does not have full allegiance to the US. This is why the framers put this requirement in the Constitution. They wanted full allegiance to America.

Cruz was BORN A CITIZEN OF THE U.S. BY VIRTUE OF BIRTH. No different that if his mother was single and on an over seas cruise at the time of his birth.
There aren’t two forms of birth right citizenship, only two forms of citizenship, natural born or naturalized. He wasn’t naturalized, so he is a NAURAL BORN CITIZEN!

Since he NEVER was required to become naturalized due to his mothers citizenship, he is natural born. No different than if his mother was on a European vacation and he was born in Prague. Or his Mother was a diplomat in Iraq. He is a citizen by virtue of his birth. QED: NATURAL BORN!

Citizenship is either Natural Born: Citizen by virtue of birth, or it is Naturalized: Citizenship by virtue of legal action. There is no third distinction.
As for the fat that his father was Cuban. He was. He was a refugee married to a Natural Born U.S. Citizen. His mothers citizenship ALONE is enough to transfer natural born ‘BIRTHRIGHT’ citizenship to Cruz. This is no different than if the mother was single and was on a vacation over seas when he was born.
Enforcing the Constitution is very important.
I do not agree (and the large majority of people do not agree ) with YOUR INTERPRETATION OF “NATURAL-BORN CITIZEN”. Try and get through your head. Your false, silly interpretation means jack squat to me just as the Supreme Court’s false, silly interpretation that abortion is a right and Osamacare is constitutional mean jack squat to me.
