Good grief. I’ve been living in DFW for eight years, and never even knew about this. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. I suppose every large city has a ‘gay day’ nowadays.
When I was a young musician in L.A., my buddies and I would go to the gay festival in Silverlake to hear the bands. After the big parade was over, it was 90% straight folks there, so we felt comfortable.
I wouldn’t get within a mile of a gay festival today.
