The elegraph ^

The army has been sent into toilet paper factories, fights for basic foodstuffs have resulted in several deaths and new, multi-million dollar oil tankers are sitting idle in dock. Now many in Venezuela are wondering how much longer President Nicolas Maduro, the anointed successor of the country’s firebrand Leftist leader Hugo Chavez, can keep hold of the reins of its crumbling socialist revolution.

Not really Maduro’s fault, but he can’t go around claiming it is Chavez’ fault, even though it is. Oh well, another socialist country reverts to the mean.

Just reading the above, this crossed my mind:

Now many in the United States are wondering how much longer President Benghazi Clinton, the anointed successor of the country’s firebrand Muslim Communist leader Mohamed Hussein Obama, can keep hold of the reins of its crumbling socialist revolution.

Just hang in there. You will get rid of socialism in about 80 or 90 years.

Dear people of Venezuela. It it time to purchase a gun and ammo. Because if you haven’t, your next home is some workcamp in the countryside. Maybe you will see your family again, maybe you won’t.

As history has shown, socialism will get rid of a lot of Venezuelans before Venezuelans get rid of socialism.

The citizens of Venezuela have to stand in line to fight for groceries and then wipe their behinds with cardboard. Socialism....it’s what the Democrats want for us.

I never understood the allure of socialism. I’m a conservative, I post on FR, and the attraction of all things socialist completely escapes me. It’s a flawed system and invites dishonesty and corruption.

Socialismo, the Robolution is failing.

And the masses will still vote for these clowns, at least that is what these clowns say since they count the votes.

I think it’s that whole seductive vision of everybody working together for the cause. A sense of fairness for everybody; everybody has food in their bellies, a roof over their head, the environment is clean, etc. I have felt this, for I used to be a liberal.

This stuff is pure hokum, of course.

“I never understood the allure of socialism.”

This is easy. Socialism panders to the worst side of the human character — greed. Socialists promise all Santa Claus 24/7/365 and it works until other people’s money runs out. Then there’s Hell to pay.

“Amid food shortages, rampant inflation and widespread electricity blackouts, many Venezuelans are wondering if Chavez chose the right heir to his revolution “

Yeah, right. Because everything was going swimmingly well in this workers’ paradise until Chavez croaked, and it turned to shit only when the new guy took control.
