And here is the full text of Obama’s speech from 2006 opposing the debt limit increase:

Republicans should just copy this word for word and send it to him, then get on TV and read it — then read what he is saying today.

The main problem the GOP has is that they are losing the public relations battle.

Republicans should just read back to Obama his own statement from 2006, when he was in the Senate:

They never do. The GOP should be running ads 24/7 of the kenyan flapping his gums in AR, LA, etc. That would grind to dust those Senate Dems up for election next year.

The problem is the big GOP donors don’t want this fight. The Adelsons and Kochs of the GOP are fine with socialized medicine.

Clearly the President cannot be trusted,

Clearly to me the Republicans in the Senate cannot be trusted either.

How can we trust people like Collins , McCain, Graham, Hatch, Ryan , Rubio, and many others in the Senate who are so busy kissing Harry Reid’s ass instead of doing their job.
There is only one Senator I trust., Ted Cruz.

Thank you. Someone states the obvious, you must fight hardball with hardball. Screw the media let them whine. Adjourn until they bend.

Naive, incompetent, or just a bunch of empty suits? take your pick.

the GoP leadership has been punked so many times , they have lost sight of their own inherent powers.. and are likely to surrender them,.. again.

I’m not a Republican (too conservative to be one) but I’ll save my ire until they capitulate.

Right now the govt is on slowdown and has been for some time.

I like it, and I’ll continue to like it for as long as it lasts.

Yes, and they don’t want to save our Constitutional Republic either. They simply don’t care.

Senate plots House GOP squeeze

[snip] Any emerging deal, however, will leave ObamaCare largely intact, angering conservatives who have demanded defunding or delaying President Obama’s signature achievement [sic]. “They are trying to jam us with the Senate and we are not going to roll over and take that,” House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) told reporters after a Saturday morning conference meeting. Rand Paul’s immigration speech
03.19.13 | Hon Sen Rand Paul (KY)

...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let’s start that conversation by acknowledging we aren’t going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

[but he’s not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
