All appropriations bills are supposed to start in the House. This is unConstitutional.

Guess he figures he has brought the Party to it’s knees and now he can surrender and let the media run with the idea that a few malcontents tried to bring down the government. Not just toast but, burnt toast.

The GOP will get weaker and the Tea Party will get stronger over this.

The GOP is complicit with the Democrats. They both run up the debt, are now co-owners of Obamacare, and will be held responsible for the coming economic disaster.

The pubbies will never beat the Rats with a stick, much less anything else. The GOP is it totally compromised and is done as a political party.

Nancy Pelosi might as well be Speaker. At least she would the actual ‘Majority’ leader of the governing Minority and RINO Coalition.

SO they should surrender and then next time they’ll get tough?

Well said. They have played that game again and again, and yet the Republican base still votes for them. Amazing stupidity.

There are three points to be made about this so-called “shutdown” that will benefit conservatives in the long run, despite what the MSM will say about how Obama “won”:

1. It clearly identifies who (Cruz, Lee, etc.) are against Obamacare and warned of this disaster of a law.

2. It demonstrated that despite the hysteria of Obama, life went on rather unimpeded by the shutdown. We can deal with 17% less government, and most people were not influenced.

3. For all the defeatists out there, what bad happened? Suppose Cruz and Lee didn’t stand up. Right now, we would be talking about amnesty instead of the budget. These two weeks focused like a laser on the budget, showed Obama to be a petty jerk with the monuments, and demonstrated that the world will not end if the government partially shuts down.

Question: Who in this government will have to use Obamacare? Congress, the Senate, any of their staffs, anyone else?

This chickenhouse fight will be quickly forgotten

And the pain of Obamacare will not and it will be plain to see who owns it The campaign ads in 2014 and 2016 will be easy to write and there are a lot of sound bites coming out of this chickenhouse fight. Including conservatives running against RINOs.

A short message to those wanting to pummel any Republican. Take your aggression out in the primary. Let that event be your "message".

Is it possible that Ted Cruz is a man without secrets?

I get to say something positive about David Dewnothing here! If there was any serious dirt on Cruz he would have used his warchest to trumpet it in last year's primary contest. I think Cruz (and Lee) are both reasonably clean (squeaky clean by DC standards).

Ooooh....you're right about how that snake Joe Straus holds on to power...Super-Rino, indeed.

With Dims and RINO's on his side, it's next to impossible to oust Straus.

You are so right. Soon it will be on to the next crisis and everyone will have forgotten about it. Most voters have no idea what is even going on and could care less.

“Will not happen. Rather there will be a revolt.”

I hope you’re right. But in what form? Civil disobedience? People refusing to buy into Obamacare? Armed confrontation in the streets? Outright civil war? I think this is what Obama wants and is preparing for. However, I am ready for any and all forms of civil disobedience.

A real question is - how can be begin to seize the power we DO have, which, as Mark Levin points out in “The Liberty Amendents” is in Article V of the Constitution through the Stage legislatures. It’s a long process, but I would like to begin to see states beginning the process, which bypasses this corrupt Congress.

Hate to say this but its a huge win for Obama. He steamrolled the GOP big time. But then again, that’s no great feat. Anyone could do that.

Your points mean nothing, and are just part of the dog and pony show. They mean as much as Boehner and Cantor do as leaders.

Defeatists? No not defeatists as you called them (and me)

Patriots who aren't going to take this any more.
But you go ahead and swallow hard.
