Go Home vans could be introduced across Britain, the Immigration Minister has said.
The controversial vans, which carry posters telling illegal migrants to leave the country or face arrest, could appear in more British cities following a trial in London, Mark Harper said.
During July, they were driven around the London boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge, Barnet, Brent, Ealing and Hounslow for a week.
Labour accused ministers of "borrowing the language" used by the National Front in the 1970s.
The poster displayed a picture of handcuffs and read: "In the UK illegally?... GO HOME OR FACE ARREST."

LOL, you got that right.
Enoch Powell was right.
Yeah, if we had signs like this on city buses (if, in fact, public transportation authorities would allow it, which I doubt) illegal immigrants would just laugh. They know they’re welcome here. As long as they don’t do something really awful, like run someone over in their car or rape and murder a child, they can live here without fear of deportation. Our country is your country, South Americans! The Welcome Wagon has opened an office in D.C.

Great idea!
How about another van....

or
Don’t Have Sex Outside Marriage!
This could really work - they’ve stumbled upon something - more driver jobs for illegals!
If you live on an island as the U.K. does, how exactly do you get an illegal immigration problem? I would imagine that most of their illegal immigrants are people who overstay their work/school visas past expiration date. There can’t be that many of those!!

You left out section 8 housing.
Are you The Walrus? Goo goo goo joob!!
They come to France en masse, get to Calais, live in squalid camps and try, try and try again to get under a trailer or in the back of a lorry that’s either going through the channel tunnel or on the ferry.
They get detected but the law of averages dictates that if you try enough you will eventually get through.
Oh, you naive fool, lol.
What Powell actually said has been misspoken by both the left and right ever since.
I should have said misquoted, not misspoken.
From what I understand most of the UK’s immigrant problems are with legal ones (”refugees”, etc.). But Labour would never admit to that.
Correct. There was a very interesting piece on the radio this morning about it funnily enough. They interviewed some Syrians who have tried “over 40” times to get into Britain that way. They were going to try again tonight.
The accusation was that the Gendarmes in Calais were failing to do their job by catching them and returning them to the camp. According to EU law they have to claim asylum in the first EU country they enter, which obviously is not Britain. So they travel across the continent illegally in the hope of getting to Britain because they believe that Britain is a better place for asylum.
According to the radio, when the french police catch them, they should return them to the first country they entered the EU. But they’re not. Gallic shrugs all around on that one.
