The president should have stated more plainly that some plans wouldn't pass muster.

TRANSLATION: "We can't allow you to purchase a cheap catastrophic plan that might be a perfect fit for you because you have to pay for the health care of Eric Holder's people and illegals."

The essential benefits and cost limits are meant to prevent people with insurance from being bankrupted by medical bills.

Instead, the premium costs will take all (or more) of their disposable income.

The risk is that the cancellations will lead those least in need of healthcare to opt for no insurance, paying only the (relatively small) federal tax penalty. If that happens, it could cause premiums for those not covered by group plans to spiral upward, leading to even more people going uninsured. Lawmakers need to guard against such a vicious cycle without abandoning the efforts to improve insurance coverage for all Americans.

Lawmakers can best do that by admitting that they know as much about the insurance business as Himmler knew about genetics. And then unlike Himmler, they can get the hell out of the way and allow insurance to once again become a contractual exchange between buyer and seller.

For the umpteenth time, GOVERNMENT IS NOT THE SOLUTION!

I'll have to add that one to the Newsspeak dictionary.

With $6K to $8K deductibles?

The president should have stated more plainly that some plans wouldn't pass muster.

Translation #2: we're going to put such onerous requirements on insurance plans so that you'll have no choice but to run to the exchanges since no insurance company in their right (evil, profit-hungry) mind would offer it.

More spin from the LA Slimes:

Owebama lied to you, but that’s OK because your policy wasn’t up to muster anyway. Never mind the fact that it was what you chose, the benevolent regime knows better than you do. The only real problem that we see is if you proles don’t have adequate faith in that benevolence, and willingly volunteer to pay more for your insurance.

And the LA Times is overpromising minimal penalties.

They are expected to go way up in two years - after the next midterm.

Elections, though, I don’t know. WHat difference do they make?

The republicans allowed this thing, though they were voted in to get rid of it.

and insurance companies adjusted to it. What are they supposed to do? they’re not going to just go out of business without gouging customers first. They should have been warning us about all of this, but it really is up to us to know.

And we do know.

But only 33% know. Same as always.

WE get the GOP in to office to fix and to oppose this guy and look.

Ad the GOP sends in the architect of a similar, if not model program, to run against not only this guy, but the guys that could have at least tried to fix it.

Gallagher is screeching that BO should be embarrassed to have only 6 people sign up .

Why should he be embarrassed? The time to fix this was when the knowledgeable statesman Cruz advised us to. Repeal it? No. Not now. If they couldn’t even defund it, how are they going to repeal it? By playing phone poker at the Sebelius hearings?

It seems those that support this law have tried several memes to try to either explain it’s failures or at least prop it up. None have worked so far but I’m anticipating what their imaginations come up with in the coming months. Should be good

We have to buy what we can not use. We pay higher premiums and deductibles.

The money is being funneled to Democrat voters.

it’s as simple as that.

Not that one word of that drek is worth placing in stock in, but the first rule of business is to underpromise and overdeliver. But of course, Zer0 wouldn’t know how to run a lemonade stand in the desert - so I wouldn’t expect him to know that.
