You could call him the storm after the storm. First there was Hurricane Sandy, and then, in the far reaches of the Republican Party, there was Hurricane Christie. The former was a devastating act of nature, the latter a desperate act of conservative frustration that came when the New Jersey governor embraced Barack Obama in the final days of the 2012 campaign. To hear the right wing tell it, the PDA between the Republican Chris Christie and the Democratic President should have been as lethal as a Michael Corleone kiss. Romney's campaign sulked. Talk-radio Republicans demanded blood. Tea Party leaders branded Christie a traitor.
Christie, however, didn't give a damn. Throughout the intraparty fight, the Jersey boy tore a page out of his hero Bruce Springsteen's songbook and defiantly struck a "No retreat, baby, no surrender" pose against withering right-wing rage. And now the Nov. 5 election results suggest that brazen, Christie-style bipartisanship might actually work.
Christie is the first New Jersey Republican in a quarter-century to win a majority of votes statewide....

Yes. I'm sure that a majority will fall for it.
When I figure out how to capitalize on the gullibility and stupidity of the American voter, both democrat and republican, I will be able to retire on my own private island and bill gates will be my butler.
Per your comment regarding the Bush 41 and 43 pedigrees: George H. W. Bush (41) was born in Massachusetts and was the son of Prescott Bush; who was a U.S Senator from Connecticut and originally from Ohio. George H. Bush (43) was born in New Haven, CT. All 3 attended Yale University. While it is true that both Bush 41 and 43 now have residences in Texas (41 still maintains a “summer home” in Kennybunkport, Maine); their New England/Northeastern ties/roots are quite strong ...Prescott was an influential NY banker prior to winning his U.S. Senate seat.
That said I totally agree that Christie is no friend to Conservatism ...probably he is the best one can expect from NJ; but, I guarantee he won't sell here in VA or anywhere else in the South.

Every four years we get invited by the GOP to vote for our most hated betrayers in the name of unity and winning. Then the bulk of us hold our noses and vote for the bum, who promptly loses. These clowns do nothing but say “me too” to the Democrats and throw the game. How many times do we have to go through this?
I find any comparison of that fat bastard to Ronaldus Maximus to be highly offensive.
The only people talking about Christie on the GOP presidential ticket are democraps
Well, then, if Scarborough says he is a uniter, I just need to drop all of my opposition to the RINO and get behind him. /s
There is a reason Joe “30 pieces of silver” Scarborough works for a backwater like MSNBC. So no sane person ever hears him.
But what does Mika think?
Reagan however had charisma and knew was well liked even by his opponents...he was respected...he knew how to make friends with who he needed too...can Christie do that?.....just don't know...
Just say no to Liberal Republicans
When Lanny Davis starts singing praises about Christie then you know your in trouble. If the Republicans want to win then they better start embracing the conservatives.
No way I would ever vote for New Jersey’s Trans-fats Governor, after what he and the GOP allowed to happen in Virginia, They put party and politics over the people’s chosen candidate and are setting up to elected Hillary with this rerun of Dole, McCain and Romney in this beached whale!
Christie would be a laughingstock on the world stage with his Jersey schtick and his total lack of self-control.
It wasn’t just RR’s charm, it was his command of the issues and his strong belief in what made this nation great.
CC has none of that, he is as weak as my 10 year old niece, he is only bombastic when he is fighting the unions and even that has gotten old.
He will fall evermore in love with himself, as the MSM heaps praise on him, he will make big mistakes on the way to 2016, I don’t see him making it to the big show.
Christie is the New Jerksey.
Chris Christie is simply NOT a constitutional supporting Republican. He is a so called “progressive” republican. One of those who went for a rinoplasty and is pure, unadulterated, socially narcist, RINO.
However the rinoplasty was a failure, and Christie cut his nose off to spite his face.He hasn’t got a chance of winning the presidency, because he would not have the support of TEA.
If another candidate dares to stick it out, the party machine will do its best to crush him. Remember Herman Cain? The Republican hierarchy couldn't stand having this upstart take votes away from their chosen one, so they, not the Democrats, mounted that smear campaign against him. Notice how all of Cain's accusers suddenly vanished once he gave up.
These days, elections are just theater The ending has already been written.
This conservative is done with RINOs. I’ll primary them when I can, but I will no longer hold my nose and vote for them - ever. The RNC and the liberal media are responsible for these RINOs getting to the forefront - they are the ones who will cause a loss in 2016 if there is one.
Is this the former politician that had a dead intern found in his office?
No, not even if he blew Krugerrands out of his blowhole 24/7.
