It's my understanding that he never admitted that he bet on games. Bart Giamotti gave him several chances to do so, and he never did.
I say “No”.....The one thing that will destroy baseball is if the integrity of the game is brought into question....having harsh penalties for throwing/betting on games is the only way to protect the game.
He’s too old no one will sign a 72 year old 2nd baseman.
I say Yes also. He WAS a GOOD player! He just engaged in some petty crimes.
I say no. He was shown the evidence by MLB against him, and decided correctly to accept his ban. For years afterwards he decided to lie to the rest of us. Nothing is a bigger threat to any sport than gambling. Any hint the games are not on the level and it is curtains for the league and sport. No other category of scandal has that potential.
I am a big yes on this one. Pete Rose was an inspiration to aspiring players and fans over his entire great career. If his gambling had been proven to the point that he threw games I would change my mind.

No. I have always believed he doesn’t agree to the ban unless there is worse information he and the commissioner were aware of.

I understand where you are coming from, but I have a question. Should we treat steroids, or domestic violence in the same manner?

No he hasn’t, no he shouldn’t. What part of “lifetime ban” do these people find confusing? They should induct him the day after his funeral, no speech or ceremony by anybody, just announce that a Pete Rose exhibit has been added, and it includes the full text of the investigation.
Domestic violence should be a criminal issue.
Steroids at least does not lead to a pre-determined result as is the case of fixing games.
The concept of protecting baseball’s integrity was thrown away when the MBA refused to throw out the records of all the players who set records while on the various steroids and HGH.
I heard that he bet on baseball games but he never bet against his own team. He bet his team would beat the other team and did everything he could to win. If he lost games on purpose I would say hell no. If he used steroids I would also say hell no. I vote yes. He paid the price for his mistakes.
Although it should be noted that the Hall of Fame is not in any way connected to MLB as an organization.
