Why Obamacare Could Help the Democrats in 2014 (Yes, he's serious)
The Daily Beast ^ | December 5, 2013 | Michael Tomasky

If some Republicans are sounding just a little bit desperate right now, I think I know why. “Obamacare is not just a broken website,” House Speaker John Boehner sputtered the other day in retreat as it emerged that the website is now working well. “This bill is fundamentally flawed.” He sure hopes he’s right about that—and by the way, Mister, it’s a law, not a bill. But I bet late at night, when he’s having that last smoke and thinking back over his day, he fears that he’s wrong and that the central Republican…“idea,” if you want to call it that, of the last three years—get rid of Obamacare—is going to look awfully stupid to a majority of Americans eight or 10 months from now.

If you haven’t gone to HealthCare.gov just for kicks, I certainly recommend now that you do. Pretend that you’re from a state that didn’t create an exchange, if you aren’t, because if you’re from a state with its own exchange, you’ll just be kicked to the state website, and what you want to test here is the federal one. So just choose a yahoo state that didn’t play ball, where the law was mocked as just so much socialism.

I just did, for the first time in weeks, an hour before scribbling these sentences. I was amazed. It was lightning fast. Explanations were clear and straightforward. Instead of bureaucratese, I encountered something I didn’t expect at all: plain English!

And here’s the key thing. It gave me loads of choices. I pretended to be a 35-year-old man from Kansas with a spouse and child. Without even having to enter my fake income, the site delivered me in a split second to a page with loads of plan options.

Choice...

Lets see ...

Millennials having to pay like $75-$100/month [after subsidies] and then having a $3000 deductible, co-pays, and out-of-pocket expenses - so that they never get the insurance to kick in ...

Many MORE millions losing their current insurance at the end of 2014 [including employer plans that haven’t announced termination yet] ...

Everybody paying more for insurance, higher deductibles, co-pays, and out-of-pocket exdpenses ...

YEP - Obamacare is REALLY gonna help the DEMs in 2014 ...

Millions who have had their coverage cancelled aren't going to be singing the praises of Democrats for this piece of crap. Millions who are forced to pay thousands more for maternity coverage they don't need, millions who find out just before the election that they'll be losing company insurance or (in their minds) worse, that they'll have to pay a portion of it...

Democrats live in a fantasy world where illegals are legal, where to help the ‘uninsured’ they make millions more uninsured, where taxes are fines and fines are taxes...

I don't imagine that there will be one senator running for re-election who will be putting forward the idea that they fully support PelosiCare. Heck, I bet even Nancy will be claiming that Republicans gutted the best parts of PelosiCare come re-election time.

Sounds like bunk from what I’m given to understand. I thought one could not interrogate the website without registering. And the registration procedure included an inspection of one’s credit records and security questions therein to validate the ID before one could proceed to view options.

But maybe I misunderstood the description of the procedure.

I real the whole editorial at link. I love finding the real questions being avoided.

Here's whats missing that Dems are avoiding in their arguments that would let us really know how good it is:

1)The $$ deductibles that goes with $$ premium for each plan
2) How many doctors and specialists are in the network for those plans
3) How much similar canceled by mandate plans cost and compare to these, the premiums, duductibles and # doctors in network that they are losing

Plus...
4) What is the extent of the network's coverage area? Is it statewide, or just countywide...or merely a single zipcode? If you live in the suburbs, will you be able to use doctors and healthcare facilities located in the city?

For example, a middle-of-the-pack silver plan looked like this: $472 a month; a $7,500 family deductible; a $12,700 out-of-pocket maximum....Individuals will have to decide for themselves whether that buys them $5,664 in peace of mind (that’s $472 times 12), but I suspect a lot of people will decide that it sure does.

Mr. Tomasky, that adds up to an annual expenditure of $13,164 before the family derives any benefit from the insurance. That amounts to fully 1/3 of the pre-tax income of the average wage-earner in the country.

Where is the "peace of mind" in that?

Of course it will work. The new talking points are that the GOP is responsible for the failure of the ACA. The MSM will repeat it until a majority of voters buy the lie then they will go into full “Blame the GOP” mode all Summer and right up to election day in November.

SOP is to blame the GOP until a majority of voters buy the lie.

Next is to post “poll results” to back up their lies.

Use the poll results to support the lie.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

There is no “Knockout game” - it’s just a myth created by racist Fox News.

The economy is doing great.

The ACA is a smashing success, but only after Obama overcame a “vast, right-wing conspiracy” in an attempt to sabotage it.

No soldiers are dying in Afghanistan.

Guantanamo is no longer an issue, just like the alleged lack of body armor was no longer an issue after GWB was re-elected.

Cindy Sheehan was on the news nearly every day leading up to the 2004 election. Predictably, the MSM politicized the death of her son then they disappeared the minute GWB was re-elected.

The numerous Obama scandals are dismissed by the MSM as having no merit or not reported.

The MSM and Academia has created a nation of no-nothings.
The likes of Obama and others take advantage of the lack of knowledge and exploit it.

IDK who is worse, the MSM or the liars that they enable.

If the MSM can get a large number of people to believe that Man can adversely affect the weather, getting them to believe that the GOP is at fault for the failure of the ACA will be an easy job for them.

Sorry for the rant but the MSM continues to blatantly lie/lie by omission and I’ve passed my breaking point.

IDK who is worse, the MSM or the liars that they enable.

America faces three enemies:

1. Radical leftists of the domestic variety.

2. Radical Muslims of the Islamofascist variety.

3. Radical journalists within the MSM.

And, of these three, the latter are the most dangerous. For, without the support of the MSM, the former two enemies would've been defeated a decade ago.

I went and checked out what’s available in NC. The cheapest Bronze plan would cost me 1134$ a month with a 12500 deductible. The Platinum plan was over 2000 a month and a deductible of 6000. People are just gonna be THRILLED at those prices.... /s

They’ve added a look only option. All you put in is age of persons, and where you live. Tells you what the premiums are. If you don’t qualify for Obamastash money, that’s your cost. Be sure you are sitting down when you do it....

All this happy talk from the Left will be for nothing as soon as the folks actually see what the cost iof their plan will be. No one at this times knows what that is because it all depends on whether the young invincible s as they are known bother to sign up.

I believe I read under the best of circumstances even if the kids do sign up the average increase to obtain coverage under the new plan mandates means an increase on average of about 40% in the policy cost.

This then is when the sh*t hits the fan and all the BS articles from the Left won’t change that.

Tell a lie enough times and people believe it to be the truth. Unfortunately, with the psychology of humanity, this technique works from time to time.

I think with all that “pretending” they should lock his ass up in “pretend” jail with a “pretend” cellmate who wants a “pretend” girlfriend.
