Christian baker in Colorado refused to bake a cake for a gay wedding. A judge is now ordering him to do so or face financial penalties.
Surely there are plenty of bakers who would bake a cake for David Mullins and Charlie Craig, the gay men who wanted the cake. But they went to Jack Phillips of Masterpiece Cakeshop in Denver, CO. When Phillips declined because of his religious beliefs, Mullins and Craig went to the ACLU, which in turn complained to the state that Phillips was discriminating.
There will be no accommodation between gay rights activists and those seeking religious freedom to opt out of the gay rights movement. Gay rights activists demand tolerance for their lifestyle, but will not tolerate those who choose to adhere to their religious beliefs.
Increasingly, courts around the country are siding with the gay rights movement against those relying on the first freedoms of the country. While many would prefer to sit this out, they will be made to care.
Evil preaches tolerance until it is dominate and then it seeks to silence good. We are more and more rapidly arriving at a point in this country where Christians are being forced from the public square unless they abandon the tenets of their faith. In our secular society, Christianity is something you do on a Sunday and who you sleep with defines you.
For Christians defined by their faith, this paradigm of being defined by your sexual preference instead of your faith is deeply troublesome and will see more and more of these stories crop up.
Underground Bakeries and Underground Churches coming soon....
It is PAST time that conservatives TOOK BACK the 1st amendment. And I mean all of the first amendment, including the right to peacefully assemble for any purpose. In this case, the right to assemble or not assemble for business.
Masterpiece Cakeshops attorney Nicolle Martin argues that it is wrong to expect Phillips to go against his beliefs.
“He can’t violate his conscience in order to collect a paycheck,” said Martin. “If Jack can’t make wedding cakes, he can’t continue to support his family. And in order to make wedding cakes, Jack must violate his belief system. That is a reprehensible choice. It is antithetical to everything America stands for.”
I appreciate your post. And I too find the term, “gays” to be totally innacurate. They should be called SADS. (Sodomites Advancing Deception). They seek the forced approval of man instead of the gracious love of Jesus. Our hatred should be turned not against them but toward satan who is the chief deceiver.
we will force you to be free
Before Obama (The Fist Mixed-Race Queer President) leaves office he will make it a hate crime to refuse sexual advances from a queer.
The Holy Spirit has a funny way of invading our conscience. The Left, particularly the homosexual Left, must remain staunchly anti-Christian; deviant sex isn't much fun when you feel horrible, dirty---and sinful.

“it is their agenda to force their perverted behavior on us all”
this is the money quote IMO..but why?
baking a cake ( even as a service for which one is paid) for a wedding includes one in the celebration of the union. why would you want to force someone to do something which they disagree with, especially when other opportunities exist to procure said cake?
it amounts to forcing another to personally renounce Christ and embrace sin and evil. the choice is to embrace evil or starve certainly Satanic. Christianity is the enemy of the evil one and his followers must be silenced.
consider this the taliban have asked westerners to denounce Jesus or face execution not much difference here. condone our perversion or lose your business.
“for whosoever would save his life shall lose it and whosoever would lose his life for my sake and the gospels shall save it” Mark 8:35
I once lost a crappy part time job because I refused a queer truck driver’s advances. Or rather, because I told him I would break his face if he touched my ass again. “Your wallet was about to fall out, dude, I was trying to help you.” By squeezing my glute.
My mormon boss offered me a reference, said he couldn’t afford to lose any customers. I told him to stick it.
That’s the problem with satire. Laughter ridicules and makes familiar.
At least the baker did not drive them out with “pitch forks”!
Where is the freedom of belief of the baker?
Being forced to do anything against ones ethics/belief system is totally egregious! MO.
What ever happened to this sign that was often seen in stores fifty years ago?
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE!
As a lawyer, what beliefs?
There is not a competent lawyer on the planet that could not switch sides in a legal case and not miss a beat.
Lawyers, as a group and as individuals don't have the slightest concern about right or wrong or morals or justice, the only scale is LEGALITY.
I've bought and paid for too many lawyers and even the ones that profess a belief in a higher power, in front of the court, only care about the law, and how they can twist it in their favor.
Your choice of profession puts you in league with the devil.
The first thing we'll do is kill all the lawyers... Willie Shaker...
LOL Yes they would have been inundated with orders.
I agree with his attorney.
But I have a question.
What does America stand for today??
This aint yesterdays America.
Freudian slip?
The US Constitution is the supreme law of the land. Its protections override any state or federal law. Religious rights are expressly protected by the constitution. Gay rights are not. To me it’s as simple and clear as that. Religious, private property, and freedom of association rights cannot be altered by any law short of a constitutional amendment.
That said, we are violating these constitutional protections because of the civil rights era. There were some people back then who (erroneously) claimed the Bible created blacks to be an inferior race. Rather than allowing the free society to deal with the problem (by ostracizing businesses that discriminated), the government tossed out religious, private property, and freedom of association rights of business owners. A precedent was created that essentially gives the government all sorts of power over what a private business does.
BTW, I’m totally for equality under the law for all races, but that’s a completely separate matter from private commercial transactions. In other words, government is clearly (constitutionally) prohibited from showing any preference under the law for any race or religion. That means no set asides for “minority owned” businesses as well as no preferential treatment for perceived racial majorities, like whites. Affirmative action, despite what the “Supreme” Court says, is blatantly unconstitutional.
It saddens me that we’ve went down this path where government is no longer impartial. Our government takes sides and picks winners and losers. That’s why there’s a constant tug of war between conflicting interests. It’s like children fighting over pinata candy—each interest hoping to carve out special treatment and benefits for itself at the expense of everyone else. This is not what America was meant to be!
