Be prepared: Wall Street advisor recommends guns, ammo for protection in collapse

A top financial advisor, worried that Obamacare, the NSA spying scandal and spiraling national debt is increasing the chances for a fiscal and social disaster, is recommending that Americans prepare a “bug-out bag” that includes food, a gun and ammo to help them stay alive.

David John Marotta, a Wall Street expert and financial advisor and Forbes contributor, said in a note to investors, “Firearms are the last item on the list, but they are on the list. There are some terrible people in this world. And you are safer when your trusted neighbors have firearms.”

A little late, ammo is available but expensive and hard to find in bulk.

I buy ammo in bulk online all the time. In fact I just purchased a 1200 round case of IMI 5.56mm 55gr.

Have you considered renting it out for a bit more than the mortgage payment?

Yes. But the other issue is my career is IT. Not a lot of demand for that in the rural area where our property is.

I've got a line on a job nearby (within an hour) of the rural place to which I've applied. I find a possible job in that area maybe once every 3 months and have yet to get an interview. But if this one were to work out, we'd rent the city property and move to the rural place. Would be somewhat difficult for the first few months, but we'd make that sacrifice.

When the SHTF, selling your house will be the least of your worries. Survival trumps property values, have an escape plan, or better yet, multiple escape plans.

That’s a nice round. Today at WalMart was the first time in a year that I’ve see that caliber put in the ammo case - two boxes.

How much? I’ve almost pulled the trigger on a case of 308 several times then balked at the price.

20 months ago, I bugged out of NYC for Alabama. Its a long story, and I am still having trouble adjusting to the culture shock, but I tell myself that when the SHTF in NYC, I will fully appreciate where I live now.

P.S. The landlord of my really nice 425 dollar a month apartment sent all the tenants big fruit baskets for Christmas! Quite a change from the bloodsuckers in NYC - I was very humbled and grateful...

Is this the same man who told us the EU and US economies would collapse prior to this past Thanksgiving? I know there are associated authors at World Daily Net and infowars that bring this collapse theory to their front page blogs every few months. Don’t take me as a skeptic on the warnings, the signs are there but pretty soon these guys will be ignored when the wolf actually shows up.

I bought all the Q3131 win .556 I'll ever need in late 80's for $179/case and since I reload, my grand kid's grand kids should be fine harvesting fresh meat. I just get sick of eating salmon, moose, and caribou all the time.

We live 200 miles up a dirt road that's open 5-6 months every summer; along the Yukon River. Locals claim the first step will be to burn the wooden bridges on that road to keep the urban hordes out. Me thinks all that talk is quite humorous. Who'd ever want to come way out here, it's minus 48F this morn as I type?

Anyone who believes that we live in a time that a major modern city with educated advanced western civilization can not be brought to its knees and turned into a dog eat dog world take a look at this:

It's coming. Be ready.

Your 401K or IRA will soon be seized by the government

If our government could jam through (in less than a week) legislation that robs from the pensions of disabled military retirees - then I am positive that seizure of your 401K is entirely plausible.

Disabled military retirees not exempt from pension cuts in budget deal

Believe it.
