Probably!?

I’ve already seen that argument made.

That would cut down on the lake effect snow.

Ain't happening.....Talked to a friend in northern Michigan's Boyne City yesterday and since Nov. 1 they've recorded over 90 inches of snow while Gaylord, just south and in the middle of the snow belt, has gotten approx. 120 inches.........That's incredible snow and there are still almost 3 months left........

If there is any bright side to all of this it's that the state's lake levels should rise again to close to normal levels.......

When I read about snowy winters, I think of The Long Winter by Laura Ingalls Wilder. It started snowing in late fall and continued until spring. They had to twist wheat, etc to have a little heat. I do not see how any survived. I looked that winter up and think it was about 1870 or that period. So, we will always have extremely cold winters. But, we will also have winters which are a whole lot nicer. Weather repeats.

And its a balmy mid 30f with light snow here in Wasilla AK.

We made it up to 30 F around noon, but the temps have been dropping since. Tomorrow night is forecast to have a low around -25, with the added insult of a subsequent high of -15. This is beginning to strike me as fairly cold.

That reminds me of a picture of a car on the frozen Tennessee River near Guntersville Lake that was in our local newspaper years ago. I think it was from about 1939. I could be wrong though.

Lived in Alaska as a kid. Walked to school every day. There was no such thing as a snow day. Don’t know how I ever survived...

‘you’re racists and homophobes!’

That is the old usage, new:

Temp. at Pullman WA dropped to minus 32F on 31 Dec 1959, and didn’t rise above freezing (32+) until about two weeks later. About a foot of snow fell during a couple of hours just prior to the sudden drop. This protective blanket saved the winter wheat crop, the mainstay of agriculture in the Palouse region, from destruction.

Indeed. We are just experiencing regular variations in the weather.

Usually the Great Lake states will get a lot of the snow during some part d of the winter but usually not the entire winter. In the current case the Lakes may freeze over and that will stop the snow. Or, the prevailing weather patterns can change and the NW flow will stop.

“Temperatures at Lambeau Field are expected to be a frigid minus 2 degrees when the Packers and San Francisco 49ers kick off, and by the fourth quarter it’ll be a bone-chilling minus 7, with wind chills approaching minus 30,...”

As it should be.

Doesn’t touch the Ice Bowl game of 12/31/67. Field wasn’t heated like it is now. 13 below zero and no way to get traction on frozen surface. ...I think officials refused to call the penalty on the offense, which allowed the last score, just because they were so frikkin’ cold!

Excellent! You should publish your findings. I am certain your findings have more efficacy than the climate hoaxer findings.

I know the story. It wasn’t the first, won’t be the last. Weather somewhat runs in cycles that we’ve seen repeated over history.

When I was at Minot we used to laugh about how while we were at -20 freezing our asses off, the coast cities in Alaska were in the 30s. That warm air brought in by the ocean does help.

My home is in the Pocatello, ID area. Not biking weather there. Obama destroyed all my work options at home. I rent a 10x14 room in Clairemont to be close to my current work location. The Harley is here as a concession to maintain my sanity. I sense another sanity break coming in about 20 minutes :-)
