Kraft announces that you may not double dip this year because Kraft has not been supplying enough Velveeta Cheese throughout all of the USA. There is ample supply in Chicago but on the Coasts there may be a run on it
ROFL at that image. Too funny!
It’s what real cheese eats?
Bizarre.
If anyone needs some, I saw a whole ‘wall’ of it at my local Walmart day before yesterday. I guess there is no shortage of it in the SouthWest.
I was surprised one day when I was young and standing at the dairy case of some big supermarket, an older black man standing next to me, both of us gazing at the brightly lit case as if it was the Shroud of Turin, when the man, pointing to Velveeta on the shelf, asked, “That’s not cheese, is it?”
“No sir, I don’t think it is,” I replied.
“I have a new unopened box that I would sell for say, 50 bucks.”
I will sell for $45 per box, shipping included.
“Never shoot a block of Velveeta cheese at close range with a .357”
What, no 12 gauge available?
Good idea for a scene in a Woody Allen future-fiction movie.
When used in an omelet, a 1 to 2 ratio of Velveeta to pepperjack cheese is heavenly, but using just Velveeta is terrible.
God bless Mr. Kraft.
LOL with tears in my eyes.....
Best post of the thread!
still laughing...
That’s amazing. You found Velveeta cheese in a supermarket? Where?
On the rare occasion that I have shopped for Velveeta, I have had to ask someone where it is. They don’t generally put it with other cheese as it is not refrigerated. I once asked a clerk why the don’t put it with the cheese and even she said, “because its not cheese.”
He could melt it and dip “vintage” Twinkies in it.
Long live Frankenfoods.
Literally.
;]
It is a great gooey obey cooking cheese.
Didn’t we just have some sort of “shortage” of Butterball turkeys, that were then used as sales leaders with plenty in stock, is this just a sales campaign that some companies do.
Announcing a soon to be shortage empties the shelves of your product guaranteeing a negative experience for shoppers and image, and people seeking out sometimes permanent alternative products to yours, that seems counterproductive, if it was real.
OMG!! How are we to survive without it? Will Obama issue an executive order to mass produce? Will we be cover by Obamacare in case we get sick from Valveeta or lack of it? Will the Wookie issue a statement? What is this world coming to?
” It is being hoarded though in places like Chicago and Green Bay.”
The ‘Cheese Heads’ in Wisconsin do not do Velveeta!
More than 30 years ago the late Herb Caen, a columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle, reported that someone visiting a grocery store in Chico had found Velveeta in the gourmet cheese section.
Maybe the people in Chico know something the rest of us missed.
