I take the cops side in this. All the guy had to do was shut off his damn cellphone. He got increasingly belligerent and the ex-cop obviously felt threatened.
I’m sick and tired of belligerent bullies. Mean people suck. Don’t be an ass, you never know who you’re dealing with and what they have on them.
So being an unarmed ass means that you should be shot??
You are a loon buddy.
If I’m on that jury - and it could be so - he has seen his last free days.
So you take their side.
So shoot them on sight?
He was texting the babysitter of his three year old daughter, BEFORE the movie started. Is there ever a time when you think it’s okay for a parent to check on their kids, or should they be subject to the whims of temperamental bullies at all times? Maybe you could post a schedule of times when it’s okay for parents to check on their kids, and a list of devices they’re allowed to use for this task. Is it okay to send a fax an hour before the movie?
1) Thrown popcorn does not justify use of deadly force, even by a cop. You may only use deadly force if you feel your life is in danger.
2) The moment the ex-cop drew his weapon, he justified deadly force being used ON HIM. Keep in mind this is Florida, and there were likely other armed people in the theater. Once a cop retires, then he's just another citizen, and his past occupation becomes irrelevant in the determination of whether deadly force by him was justified.
That said, I'm waiting for the police and prosecutors to close ranks and try to figure out a way to get him off.
Of course the ex-cop felt threatened; they (and current cops) feel threatened by everything.
And if he won't, it's OK to murder him? Are you serious?
I feel the same way when driving. Time get a machine gun mounted on my car; about time to REALLY deal with those slow people in the left lane; they are probably texting anyway.
Yeah that's the ticket; no more mean or belligerent people will mess with me.
Let me get the gist of your argument. If some guy is an a..hole, you get to shoot him?
Mosey down here and tell me to turn my phone off and see how well that works for you.
Whoa man. Sounds like you are getting increasingly belligerent there. Ex-cop means not a cop. Ex-cop means just like the rest of us. The rest of us are not going to get away with this.
All the ex-cop had to do was go ask an usher to do something. Or even **god forbid**, not worry about someone sending a text and breaching good manners.
The texting guy committed no crime, he was just mildly impolite to text during coming attractions. The jackass carrying the gun had a responsibility to have a thicker skin. It goes with carrying.
It doesn’t make you the manners enforcer. It makes you able to respond to actual danger. It does not make you the enforcer of no smoking indoors, no texting, putting your feet up on the seat, etc.
Carrying CCW should make you the exact opposite. This guy deserves life.
The cop demonstrated an undeserving level of arrogant superiority as do most perpetrators.
>> Im sick and tired of belligerent bullies. Mean people suck
Boo hoo hoo...
I hope you are kidding because nobody is that stupid to defend this...
I think that cops who shoot people for texting, and the people who defend cops who shoot people who text, should be put up against a wall and shot.
