CNN host Piers Morgan says people under the age of 25 should not be allowed to buy guns, in light of recent shootings around the country.
Wading into the national gun debate, Morgan took to Twitter this week to argue about what he called the "absurdity" of the Second Amendment.
He pointed out that the recent Maryland mall shooter, Darion Marcus Aguilar, was 19-years-old. He reasoned that people can't drink alcohol before the age of 21 or rent a car before turning 25, so the government should establish similar standards for gun ownership.
"The 19yr-old mall shooter in Maryland was not legally allowed to buy an alcoholic drink until 21," Morgan tweeted. "But was able to legally buy a shotgun."
"It's almost impossible to rent a car under the age of 25 in America - why not regulate guns the same way? Just common sense," he added.
Many of the recent high-profile shootings around the country have come at the hands of people who were under the age of 25.
The Sandy Hook shooter, Adam Lanza, was 20-years-old at the time of the Connecticut shooting...

Yeah, well he picked up a disease there that has him medically disabled and retired at 27 years old. A sacrifice none of these left-wing f&^%s can understand.
End all those marker dates. What good have they done? Let parents decide when a kids old enough. Government is the problem.
WTH is he still in the US? Revoke his visa and ship his ass back to wherever will have him.
Why do conservatives keep giving Piers Morgan’s show ratings life? Let him die off and go back to wonderful, perfect, safe Britain.
Most people in England hate Piers Morgan. He skipped out one step ahead of the law. Now he’s making another country hate him. Smooth, Zucker, real smooth. Keep bashing FOX to distract from the fact that you can’t even outdraw loony-left MSNBC.
I’ll take Piers One Import up on this if we can get the voting age raised to 25 as well....
What?!
What kinduh disease lays up a 27 year old man?
A very familiar story. Except I didn’t have a checking account at age 14. I had to pay cash and arrange for an evil “straw buyer”! Paid $99.95 plus tax at a nearby Otasco chain store. The shotgun is still in very good condition and has always functioned flawlessly.
So, we justify more gun laws because Adam Lanza shot his own mother in the head while she lay sleeping and then stole her firearms. Brilliant liberal logic! About as brilliant as blaming guns for Columbine but ignoring the laws tha forbid bombs and murder.
I think Nazis like Piers Morgan should be stripped of their vocal cords and get their nuts stomped into the concrete.
bloodborne, airborne, it’s just a filthy environment in every possible way.
I quite agree; the problem is that a lot of "conservatives" are conservative only in that they want to keep things the same… or outright hypocritical, approving of contra-constitutional actions when they align with their worldview (the War on Drugs is a good example).
I was on a night dismount patrol in a town there and went into a ditch knee deep full of raw sewage. I’m amazed I didn’t catch something debilitating
It bugs me now too. It’s been bugging me since I was drafted at 19 in 1966. If you’re old enough to defend freedom in a military uniform you’re old enough to do all that other stuff, period.
I’m a fan of the Heinlein model. If you’ve served your country, you can vote and do everything else. If not, well......
You can get an abortion at any age and without your parents permission. So if you can’t buy a gun until you are 25, then you can not get an abortion until 25 either
“served your country”
as a government employee?
Why should those who work for government be the only ones voting? That’s backwards
Buy a gun is not an act of murder however getting an abortion is
no, not as a civilian employee
Read Starship Troopers. It’s a good read with some interesting ideas
