The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The state House on Thursday passed a series of bills and resolutions aimed at calling for a national constitutional convention to rein in spending in Washington.
The House, largely along party lines, adopted House Bill 794, House Resolution 1215, Senate Bill 206 and Senate Resolution 371.
The U.S. Constitution allows for states to call for a convention to consider amendments. If two-thirds, or 34, states adopt similar resolutions, a convention is ordered. The proposals adopted Thursday call for a convention and outline how a potential Georgia delegation would be named.

Even if some kind of wacky amendment proposal comes out of an Amendments Convention, it will require 38 states to ratify it. Do you honestly think that 38 states will ratify something like the repeal of the 2nd Amendment? Or any other wacky idea?
There is an FAQ for short answers, and a lengthy pdf at the bottom of the "Citizen's Toolkit" under "Answers to JBS Questions" for more detail.
i didn’t think we’d end up with a marxist, foreign born manchurian candidate who can’t put two good sentences together without a teleprompter that would start dismantling this country for the new world order, but here we are. and nmobody’s stopping him’where theycought to be stopping him, because they are rinos and gopers and hate conserativces more than what emperor barrycades is doing cuz they can’t handle the charge of racist being thrown at them.
thanks i will check it out.
Bring it.
I looked up “defeatist” in the dictionary and found your picture there.
Yes, siree-bob, now that’s what I’m talkin’ about!
The house bill was introduced by my own state representative.
So, who’s next?
I just don’t have the patience for a lot of the naysayers...
You and publius are much more “understanding” than I am.
The last train from Georgia has left the station, and I am on board.
Let’s get ‘er done.
That is what you have now except they let corrupt judges take the blame for it.
A Convention will be of little value anyway, in my opinion, because the Republic will be long dead before they agree on one change.

Lets all work together to get this going.
The Federal Government is broken. We owe it to The Founders and ourselves to attempt a rational Article V amendment process.
What I though about also. The big states pressure the smaller ones by some means or the other, and the next thing they will declare Obama and the dimocrats the only political party for Amerika, and him as king for life, or should I say Sultan for life, and Moo-hameded religion of pedophiles, rape, murder and camel sex as the new national religion.
I finally found a link I had lost to a scholarly document regarding the passage of the 17th amendment.
Here is the link to the pdf file, bBe advised, it is 74 pages long.

I think it was jacquerie that originally pointed me to this.
One state; one vote.
Read up on it.
Preach it...
There are MANY here on FP who sing the praises of the Founders... and rightly so...
They KNEW we would get to this point based on the history they studied. And in their wisdom, they included Article V as our LAST great hope of saving the Constitution and Republic.
If Freepers would spend as much time researching an Article V convention as they do bitching about how they THINK things are going to happen, GA wouldn’t have had to go it ALONE (for now)... Get off you a$$ and stop bitching & complaining...
I’m a LIFE LONG GA resident and I’m DAMN proud of what was accomplished...
Now onto the next State... Come join us!
My thoughts exactly.
Keep reading, so that you may, in fact, know it all.
Thanks, brother.
