How does this apply to multi-lane highways where there is a car every 20 feet in every lane?
Near me, it always seems to be middle aged women in SUVs who think its OK to ride in the left lane at 50 MPH. Every once in a while you get an 80 year old man, but mainly its middle aged women in SUVs.
Too bad every state doesn’t pass a law like this for drivers who think they have the right to homestead in the left lane.
Yep...should be against the law to drive slow in the left lane. When I was in France and Belgium I noticed the drivers always got into the right lane and never used the left lane for cruising and someone told me it was against the law there to cruise in the left hand lane. I believe that is largely responsible for the lower number of fatalities on the highways there.
Making this a criminal offense rather than a traffic infraction is a bit harsh.
more government laws are better than just passing a fool./sarcasm
get government to try to do something for you instead of doing it yourself. no wonder government keeps growing and the country and freedom keep declining
as if anyone follows the speeding laws
the computer won’t turn on . why we need a law
We have the law in PA... doesn’t help. I suppose it isn’t enforced?
I’ve said to my wife if I could be a cop for a day all I would do would be to ticket slow drivers in the left lane on the freeway. I guess it’s a good thing I’m not.
AMEN!!!!!!!! About time!!!!!!!!!!
A law like this makes sense...but only in rural areas. It could cause collisions in the city.
That’s unusual
I notice that it only takes a few cars going under the speed limit on a multi-lane road to slow everyone else down
Once you are trapped behind them here its hard to change lanes till all traffic is slowed down by the jam.
Even if you yourself are exceeding the speed limit by say 5 MPH? If so you will be guilty of enabling someone to exceed the speed limit even more.
What if you are in the left lane, driving the speed limit, and some jerk comes along doing 10-15 MPH over the speed limit. Do you still have to pull over?
how about private roads that set their own rules and you choose which to take.
get government out of schools, roads ,everything
we need separation of gov and the economy
government just needs to leave us , our kids etc. alone
only military and border control for the federal gov
local govs can deal only with laws that prevent the use of force (assault, murder, kidnapping, stealing) etc. and just courts to act as referees where individuals can settle disputes of contracts , land, etc. courts with jury’s of your peers not gov morons deciding what’s right at any level. gov schools are an abomination, so is the EPA,IRS etc. No one can be deprived of their right to freedom, privacy , property with out the due process of law in a court of law and judged by a jury of your peers. government morons can NEVER make any law that doesn’t deal with protecting property rights or preventing force. government education? no way, gov healthcare and charity ? by what right do these democrat/government goons have to deprive us of our rights and property (half our income) to do fake global warming studies? so yes patents , property rights, no stealing , no murder, no harrassment etc. those can be written in a few laws, a few pages. everything else is not the province nor business of government.instead there are room fulls of laws that impose tyranny on us
How about tickets for those who pass on the right going over the speed limit?
I agree, excepting carpool lanes.
Round here the legions of reckless drivers think you’re “lollygagging” if you’re going the speed limit.
The fast lane is where the radar is focused and where tickets are issued.
Is there a different speed limit for the left lane?
The current speed limits are valid, even if they are not enforced.
Is this legislation going to make it legal to speed up and sit on the rear bumper of a car that is going the legal limit?
As usual, most legislation is not thought out.
