DRUDGE READERS SURPRISE GOP ELITE FOR PREZ

Become latest to defy D.C. establishment in sizzling new poll

Drew Zahn

When it comes to picking a presidential candidate for 2016, the GOP elite is having a hard time getting the grassroots to toe the establishment line.

Top Republican strategist Karl Rove, for example, has repeatedly praised Chris Christie, the Republican governor of New Jersey, as “a strong potential candidate in 2016,” whom Democrats fear will win the nomination.

And when other names gained popular attention, particularly attention among the so-called tea-party crowd, the man known as the “architect” was quick to criticize.

Rove, for example, blasted potential presidential hopeful Ted Cruz for not playing ball with the GOP establishment, just as the Texas senator’s name started to gain traction with Republican voters.

Rove similarly opened fire on Sen. Rand Paul, R-Tenn., for talking about Monica Lewinsky and potential Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in the same breath.

And even if Christie has fallen from favor among the establishment, other GOP insiders have floated names like former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, former vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin and even the return of former presidential candidate and Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney as possible nominees in 2016.

But now a poll on one of the Internet’s top websites, the Drudge Report, reveals the ground troops just aren’t buying it.

With over 234,000 votes counted, Rove’s “strong potential candidate,” Christie, was garnering less than five percent of the vote. Bush had just over six percent. Ryan had less than four.

But despite fiery criticism from the GOP establishment, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz was registering over 28 percent in the Drudge Report poll, while Tennessee Sen. Rand Paul was leading the survey, with over 30 percent. Paul’s 72,297 votes compared impressively to Christie’s 11,437.

When Christine O'Donnell defeated the RINO in the Delaware Primary, Tokyo Rove went ballistic and his best to get her defeated. He would rather have DEMOCRAP in the Senate.

Likewise the NJ Capo would rather have DEMOCRAP Booker in the Senate than Steve Lonergan!

The other worthies in that group are Sarah Palin, and Rick Perry.

If you aren’t a phoney, or worse, and now I’m betting worse, what is your plan if one of your choices don’t make it on the ballot..

You have been shooting your mouth off on every thread you post, about all the rinos, and how no one should vote for anyone that doesn’t fit your mold, or WHAT? If you don’t understand, having a PLAN.. Whats your suggestion? Waiting..

Let us not forget many on the right and right here on FR piled on. As they did with Akin. And we pissed away 2 seats.

But Romney, a thousand times more liberal than either of them was OK?

We need to look closer to home to find why we lose. Rove is a POS. But it’s collectively ‘us’ that pull levers and constitute his little henchmen.

You’re definitely over the target TBP!

Great article on “The Buckley Rule” from someone who knows the complete history of it.

Really, DU..? LOLOL How predictable, all you have is name calling, accusations, insults, but no answers..

You can’t answer the simple question, because that isn’t your goal here is it? Do you think anyone on this site will believe you are what you pretend to be, after this display of deflections, insults, strawmen, from a simple question..

Everyone on this site that knows me, knows who I am, I have nothing to hide, the real question is who are you Norm Lenhart..? Maybe the answer will be forthcoming, we’ll see..

The President sets the agenda, and the dialogue, and I’d rather have a Republican that I could possibly influence, that a Marxist that could care less, what I think..

Until The Coup or Hostile Take Over of GOP as described here Bill Paxon is ended no POTUS is going to change anything. If congress was not corupt to the core Barack Obama would be gone majority party or no. Over a dozen GOP senators basically support the Obama agenda as does the House GOP Leadership. Read the names closely in the linked article.

The takeover happened 20 years ago. I'm not a big fan of Newt but he was a good SOH and was bringing changed which the GOP-E saw as a huge threat. For that reason I am not now and I never will vote for a GOP-E scum licking dog who will continue the GOP-E business as usual be it congress, POTUS, or local dog catcher.

I remember NET real well I was a nightly viewer. Weyrich was literally kicking butt and revealing names including the top of his list Trent Lott as to the ones selling out to the DEMs. At first when Weyrich talked about Lott he almost looked like a mad man and sounded like one but Paul had Lotts game and exposed him.

Look at 1996 BTW remember the GOP Convention? Who's wife was a keynote speaker? There is no working with the GOP-E. They will throw the Conservatives under the bus and then gladly kiss the asses of the Democratic Marxist Leadership and darn well enjoy the taste of it all. Sorry to be so blunt and crude but that is simply the stone cold fact of the matter. I loathe the Marxist or power happy CORRUPT GOP-E as much or more than the Marxist DEMS.

God...the last idiot that tried this was 5 years ago. Really? Do you wanna play the “Don’t you know who I am card”?

How do I Google “Guy who admitted to trashing his own business over politics then not voting”? Can I just type that in or should I look under “Guy with exaggerated sense of self Importance”?

PS, I had to ping a couple people because stupidity of your caliber does not happen often thank God, and I wanted to share it with friends.

But to close, What good would it be for me to impart my devious plan on you when you don’t vote? That one gets me. Why should I, a literal icon of conservatism, lower myself to give you the knowledge so many crave?

You are simply unworthy.

I agree, Paul Weyrich, and his daughter were my friends, as was Newt, and I wasn’t just a donor, but on the Kitchen Kabinet, that formulated the Contract With America..

We won the congress back for the first time in 50 years.. I joined Lee Atwater, until he died in 1991, in every meeting on the build up to the CWA strategy session until it was presented..

I hope so. I mean being a celeb and all who wrote/helped write/whatever (hard to keep your accomplishments straight) the Contract with America AND refused to vote after trashing his business over politics...people SHOULD be watching what you say next.

Might even be the answer to warp drive!
