To build a utopian America where everything is perfect as defined by our wise liberal ruling class, first the old America must be eradicated. That means erasing the heritage that makes the country what it is. National treasures like Mark Twain have to go:
An effort to name a Lake Tahoe cove after American literary icon Mark Twain has been scuttled for the second time in three years, citing opposition from a tribe that says the writer held racist views of Native Americans.
It should be noted that most everyone who lived in the 19th century held views of Indians that would be regarded as racist according to modern liberal ideology. It should also be noted that one reason Twains writing was more interesting than the P.C. pabulum excreted today is that he took an irreverent tone toward everyone, having no way of knowing that one day it would be a thought crime to poke fun at any group revered as victims.
The Nevada State Board on Geographic Names this week voted to indefinitely table the request after hearing opposition from the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California, whose ancestral homeland includes Lake Tahoe. Darrel Cruz, head of the tribes cultural resource department, said the late author did not deserve to have a scenic cove on the lakes northeast shore named for Samuel Clemens, Twains real name.
With all due respect to Mr. Cruz, why is up to him what we name lakes? I thought we won the Indian Wars. Otherwise, we would be sleeping on the ground in teepees and dying of old age at 32.
But of course, it isnt Indians suppressing our culture and deleting our heritage. It is cultural Marxists, who use people like Cruz the same way they exploit blacks, gays, et cetera. Before they are finished with their fundamental transformation, no one will remember that Mark Twain ever lived.
Chuckle, chuckle... Sorta like Liz Warren up in MA...
yeah.....
or like the crying indian from those old commericals.
“...crying indian...”

Litter campaign. This was a good thing.
I have been to a lot of Indian reservations. What you see there in terms of the garbage scattered everywhere would make you cry too.
Yet Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, still gets a pass, despite her utterly racist views. I guess it just depends on which side of the fence one is standing.
No doubt.
People are people. Red, black, yellow, tan, white.
Some have respect for things, others don’t.
That’s why the whole “racist” thing is pure contrived bullsh*t.
I’ve worked with people of all races. Some are the best folks I’ve ever known; others are complete assh*les. It’s just the way it is.
That’s so very true...
It’s called human nature....
“...Its called human nature.....”
And it’s why socialism ultimately fails. That won’t stop them from trying to force it on us, though.
There’s only one permanent way to stop them.
Twain is no longer here, so this is really about the left’s intense hatred for Western Civilization and its plan to destroy it.
Francis Parkman, author of The Oregon Trail, will probably be up next for his two-minute hate. Not that he hasn't been castigated by them before.
That guy was an Italian...
An Italian-Indian, or Indian-Italian... or “Native-Italian- Indian” (Wow... a DOUBLE-hyphenate!!! Clearly he should be Super-Deluxe Protect Victim Class!) clearly...
Gotta have that hyphen in there somewhere...
Francis Parkman, if I remember correctly, was instrumental in bringing the story of Robert Rogers, of Rogers Rangers and the French and Indian War fame, back into American consciousness some years after the American Revolution.
Rogers had stayed with the English Crown and fought against the American Patriots.
It was Parkman that turned Rogers from a forgotten Tory into an American folk hero for his raid on the Abenaki savages at Saint Francis in Canada.
Pretty epic story, actually.
Too bad Rogers stayed with the English... he could have been larger than life as an American Patriot.
No doubt he would have considered that to be very high praise.
Your comment sent me off bouncing around the Interwebs for a brief look and a couple of interesting things caught my eye.
Apparently some of his ex-Rangers participated on the colonists' side at the Battle of Lexington and Concord. One source stated that Rogers had offered his services to Washington but that he was turned down because Washington thought he might be a spy. Another source claims that Washington turned his offer down because he couldn't meet the price that Rogers requested.
What a downward spiral we're in and how much we've lost. From tough, courageous men at our beginning to Occupy Wall Street types defecating on police cars because they've been "cheated."
It's almost too much to bear sometimes.
Here’s two really interesting books on the French-Indian Wars;
“White Devil” by Steven Brumwell

This is ALL about Rogers and the Saint Francis raid. Excellent read.
“For A Few Acres of Snow” by Rpbert Leckie

This amazing American was an amazing and prolific author.

His book “Helmet for my Pillow” was one of the baselines used for HBO’s “The Pacific” series, about Marines in the Pacific Theater of Operations in WWII.
I recommend all three of these books highly, if you haven’t read them.

Keep the faith, my friend. It’s far from over. We’re STILL Americans, and we will prevail. Love of your country is in your heart, your soul is your own, and NO ONE CAN EVER TAKE EITHER OF THOSE AWAY unless you give it away.
And that’s NOT an option.
“...From tough, courageous men at our beginning ...”
They’re still here. This gentleman speaking at a commencement ceremony proves it, and he just influenced an untold number of other young Americans to be better men and women.
Sorry - forgot to include this link with my last post to you.

Right after “This gentleman speaking at a commencement ceremony” I meant to include the above link from another thread I was on.
I've given myself a good kick in the rear for starting to whine.
Thanks so much for the book recommendations - I'm looking forward to a whole lot of reading!
And thanks for the pep talk - it's much appreciated also.

You’re not alone, my friend. Ever.
