I saw George Washington order the hanging of a couple of deserters on “Turn” a couple weeks back.

It wasn’t a lack of compassion but an act of compassion for the others who served.

When was the last deserter convicted? I was wondering because if it was recent, what right does the military have to let this guy go?

Should be noted these are NOT Jackson’s words.

They are dialogue from a movie about Jackson.

I was just reading up on the desertion issue, especially during the Civil War and found this about the Kingston Hangings:

The Kinston Hangings (Part 2): A General’s Fatal Anger

General George Pickett ordered the hanging of 22 North Carolina men.

OK so the author is aware that God and Generals was a work of fiction? And that Stonwall Jackson didn't say that, Stephen Lang did because the script told him to?
