U.S. Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has told people treating him at an American military medical facility in Germany that he was tortured, beaten and held in a cage by his Taliban captors in Afghanistan after he tried to escape, a senior U.S. official said Sunday.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss what Bergdahl has revealed about the conditions of his captivity. The New York Times first reported on the matter.
The official said it was difficult to verify the accounts Bergdahl has given since his release a week ago.

Military doctors at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center say that while Bergdahl is physically able to travel he's not yet emotionally prepared to be reunited with his family. He has not yet spoken to his family.

At a minimum, I'm sure he was a$$ raped numerous times. But frankly, I'm surprised that he wasn't the star of one of those Taliban special beheading home movies. The anger here comes from the fact that these stories are being spun by a compliant media to provide cover for the Mufti-in-Chief by portraying Bergdahl as a victim, when he brought his misfortunes entirely upon himself by an act of desertion and probably collaboration.

The only things I’ll believe regarding this guy are things said by his platoon mates.

Honor, distinction, desertion, hero, captivity, convert to Islam, Stockholm Syndrome, treason.
The Left will have a field day helping us define these terms in a way useful to them, Clintonizing and parsing and re-framing every last one of them.

The key words here....not like he was captured and tortured. So after he realized he made a big mistake he tried to escape and hense his value to his “captors” was reduced.
I’m sure he was tortured. As was said above, he’s lucky he still has his head. But the REAL torture will begin when he stands before the Lord, and standing beside God will be at least six real heroes waiting for an explanation. My faith says I must pray for and forgive him. I hope he repents before his judgement.
