Last actual case which even comes close is that the tribal representative of the Ft. Yates Sioux claimed to be offended by the University of North Dakota's mascot the "Fighting Sioux".

The actual Sioux reservation located closest to the campus was quite supportive and liked the name and honor the university's top notch hockey team gave to the tribe.

Once a little investigation was done in the Ft. Yates choice to be offended, it turned out they really weren't offended at all, just that the tribal leadership was unable to negotiate enough free sh*t from UND to drop their objections.

The actual tribe rank and file voted the corrupt b*st*rds out of office at the next opportunity. But even though they were a Sioux tribe located at the opposite end of the state and even though they were officially no longer offended, that didn't keep the PC nannies from continuing with their crusade against the Fighting Sioux.
