This mornings IRS hearing is live now. White House attorney and an archivist from the National Archives and Records Administration to testify.

I would like to thank South Carolina for sending Mr. Trey Gowdy to us.
Dear US House of Representatives:
Pay attention to Mr. Gowdy. This is how an AMERICAN behaves.
Wait until he begins his Benghazi investigation. Then he will really see how this administration shamelessly destroys evidence, lies and coerces witnesses.
Gowdy kicked some serious IRS butt. Compare & contrast to Issas’ questionings. Discuss. I’ve been pointing this out: Amateur lawyers (Issa) destroy their cases by arguing nonlinearly, nondirectionally, nonconclusively.
You want that speechless pause at the end of the questioning. That’s when you know.
In MY dinky little job, I can’t even ARCHIVE data, much less DESTROY records at my own discretion.
It has to go to God and all his disciples before we get the OK to remove data... anywhere!!!
Gowdy for president!
Seems they would want to question the IT people to confirm the crash.
I’m reminded of what Jimmy Hoffa said about the Watergate Tapes.
He said if he was the President he would burn the tapes and tell the investigators to get used to it.
Gouty kicked his a$$!
Lois Lerner took an ax
and gave her hard drive forty whacks,
and when she saw what she had done,
she gave six others forty one.
And yet some backups did exist,
so carefully she made a list.
So when she found them, she was not slow,
To give those too the old heave ho.
The important point Gowdy was making is that if evidence is under subpoena, and it gets destroyed, then a jury can infer that the evidence would have been detrimental to the person who destroyed it, and use that inference in deciding the case. Not only is it a bad idea, it can be a separate CRIMINAL charge. It looks like it took Koskinen a while to understand Gowdy’s explanation.
What a bull dog and has his facts all lined out and meticulously pulls the layers back throughout his questioning.
If he is on it...bet’cha someday, someone will take the fall for all this IRS crap.
I'm opting for "both of above". The testimony amounts to "sure, we destroyed the evidence you subpoenaed. So what?"
