If the establishment were serious they’d work out a way to get Wicker to step down for a few years and get Cochran to retire in 3.

“It makes you want to quit being involved. I never believed a third party would work, maybe that’s the only way to get rid of the corruption of Washington, the corruption of the Democratic party, the corruption of the Republican party,” Neyrey said. “These people do not exist to serve the public, they exist to serve themselves and each other.”

Barry Neyrey sounds remarkably astute.

Senate Conservatives Fund’s Ken Cuccinelli hung up on a POLITICO reporter when asked if they would consider challenging the result in court.

That is absolutely precious.

>> Cochran’s win was a major victory for the GOP Republican establishment

An incumbent squeaking by in a run-off is a “major victory”. Hahaha!

I’m saying this as an officer in the GOP - McDaniel, run as an Independent.

Anyone who courts Democrats to win the primary like Cochran did does not deserve the GOP nomination.

if chris mcdaniel goes third party write-in, i’m with him. he could win, especially if the leftists split their vote between cochran and the dem challenger.

So black voter Dems got manipulated and riled up by old whitey to vote for that candidate who was lying to them so they could rally to the cause of the black president who doesn’t give a rip about them all in the name of feeling outraged and good at the same time. What a cluster goat copulation. Shame on the GOPe old fools and tasbards of power hungry sickness,

Also at fault are way too many stupid Republican voters who just can’t bring themselves to vote against the incumbents of the GOPe. Are they so cemented in the brain that a six term Senator can’t be removed and replaced by another good, younger candidate from their same party and especially with all the corruption of DC? We have a stupid electorate folks with too many morons as voters. Its a real bad problem everywhere.

It is sad and disheartening for our nation that cronies have a way of winning elections. Would be wonderful, for our nation and a safer world, if only Statesmen and Stateswomen won elections. As usual and as is the norm ... cronies do outnumber Statesmen and Stateswomen. Statesmen and Stateswomen are a rare commodity on our planet. Maybe God will have mercy on America since America was God’s creation even though God knew the trend would eventually swing back to more cronies, quickly, rather than Statesmen and Stateswomen leading. Don’t want to say Rome here we come but with the gates open and many barbarians already inside; the People are in for one heck of a fight. May God be with us.

Cochran’s win was a major victory for the GOP Republican establishment that included heavy investment by the National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

I'd think rather a pyric victory myself. The depth to which the GOPe had to sink does not bode well for them, frankly. I'll be curious to see exactly how many voters turn out for Thad come November. The duplicity and downright arrogance of the Republican Party is disgusting and does not engender loyalty on a nationwide scale.

It fielded an insane contrarian in 2008, a milquetoast pretty boy in 2012 and now props up a senile old coot in MS for 2014 for the sixth or seventh time (I forget - I must have caught something from Thad). One can only marvel at just how in the heck they are gonna down-select from the JebChristiePaulRubioRyanWhomever amnesty clan in 2016?

It sure doesn't make me want to slog out in the rain to go vote for any GOP candidate. Not even on a sunny day.

The lib media keeps on saying this now assures an easy win for Cochran in the general election. Im not so sure. Many conservative will sit out. And some may vote for Childers.

This will turn our to be a Pyrrhic victory for them. I hope McDaniel does run as an independent, but only if he wins.

We’re up against billions of dollars of insider money and they’ll do anything to keep the gravy train rolling. How about pushing for closed primary elections as our first reform. This wouldn’t have happened, but for that. So who benefits from open primaries? The GOPe.

A write in campaign CAN win.

Look at the June 3 results here:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-tran/elections/2014-primaries-june3

(Mississippi results are down the page)

Notice the top vote getter that night was McDaniel. The ENTIRE Democrat slate didn’t get HALF the votes of EITHER Republican.

I don’t think Cochran will get DEMOCRAT votes in the general election, do you?

McDaniel could repeat what he did on June 3 and be the next Senator from Mississippi.

I agree with this. Disloyalty and intrigue on the part of Cochran should result in a write-in campaign for McDaniels as a protest. Both will probably lose, but it is the only strategy that makes the establishment pay for their treachery.

Conservatives will vote their conscience with a write-in ballot, and they will not be voting against their principles.

The establishment must pay for treachery.

Write In McDaniels
