Chris McDaniel: I was “betrayed” by the GOP establishment
MOFO Politics ^ | 25 Jun 14 | MFP

Chris McDaniel, onthe blatantly unethical and illegal tactics employed by Thad Cochran and Haley Barbour in the Mississippi GOP runoff Tuesday…

“McDaniel: I am a two-term state senator, I have fought for this party my entire life, I’ve given money…I’ve done everything they’ve asked me to do– and last night, they pulled over 35,000 Democrats into a Republican primary to defeat me…we feel betrayed.

Hannity: Do you foresee any circumstance under which you would support this guy? Because I don’t think I could do it.

McDaniel: I prayed about it last night…my core principle is gonna have a hard time even looking at politics again.

Hannity: You sound like you got punched in the gut. You sound like you’ve been betrayed.

McDaniel: Sean, I was…I have fought for these people. These are my colleagues. They are my friends…I don’t understand!

But Ted Cruz has bigger fish to fry… “

“I certainly congratulate my colleague, Thad,” Cruz said on Fox and Friends Wednesday morning, pointing out that the Republican establishment poured millions into the Mississippi race and only won by a thin margin. Cruz reminded the hosts that he did not endorse a candidate in the Mississippi primary, as he promised to stay out of incumbent Senate races.

As does Rand… “

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), a potential 2016 presidential contender, declined to support tea party critics of Mississippi Sen. Thad Cochran’s efforts to mobilize non-GOP voters to win the Republican nomination.

“I’m for more people voting, not less people voting,” Paul told reporters Wednesday.

But I have yet to see one area/story/episode where God had ‘us’ personally/directly rely on evil to achieve a good result.

Your observation is pointless. You can never "see" such an event that you will acknowledge as meeting the basic criterion you have established.

Saul and the Amalekites is a possible fit for your observation. It is a waste of time to mention it, though, because it is pre-rejected from dissection.

I’m the fundiest of fundies, but I figure when I reach perfection myself, then I can lecture strangers on the internet regarding their faults as perceived by myself, from a few comments on a political forum

It’s not prerejected and I don’t see how it fits at all. Either Gods word is infallible or it isn’t. Which do you believe to be true?

Are you saying God was evil and Saul correct?

Seriously I am not following you here at all. It cannot be both ways. God ‘is’. He is God. He sets the rules. We follow them or not.Saul did not. So how on earth does that fit the original idea? At all?

I don’t call what he’s saying, “whining”. We gave W heck because he let all the crtitcs go unanswered, in the name of “rising above it”.All they did was mistake kindness for weakness. They need to be called out for their dirtiness.

don’t live in Mississippi so it really doesn’t matter, but I wish McDaniels would stop whining and suck it up.

How did that work out for “W” Bush?

He doesn’t have to a liberal. It’s enough that he, like the rest of the GOP, only pulls out the dirty tricks and hard fight when they’re opposing a conservative, but it’s all “my friend on the other side of the aisle” when it comes to America’s enemies.

What more will the Republican Party have to do to Conservatives to convince them that they are unwanted in the Republican Party?

Nothing else, I'm sold.

OK I see where you are going and where we are looking at this differently.

You are looking at this from the standpoint that it is inherently evil for Saul to go nuclear, whic from a human perspective it would well be.

I am looking at it from the standpoint that If God says it, the rules are out the door.

I look at the lesser evil thing like making a deal with the Devil for your benefit. Which it is because it ain’t God you bargain with to receive the ‘blessings of evil’.

I find nowhere in the Bible that God ever asked for something like that of us or allowed us to do in the first place.

Does that make more sense?

Relying

If I see fratricide which would be obviated by God’s grace, yes I will hit folks over the head with a verbal 2x4 so that they get a clueX4 about where God butters their bread of life. Better that than this mutual damnation which goes on all the time.

But he is...and this effort the blame all of the GOP for the GOPe is crazy when McDaniels is proof that the GOP has good members that are being betrayed by bad members. We need to purge the bad members not throw away the whole party.

It's the same as some people calling for a new civil war. You don't throw away your country because radicals have taken over. You fight them and take it back.

The fact is people have been saying that for almost 30 years and the party is at the furthest left it has ever been. There is no denying either of those carved in steel facts.

When the entire leadership and a literal 90 plus percent of the party (the pols themselves, aides ect) is leftist, there is no ‘taking it back’ It is lost.

It is no white knight effort to fight the obvious any longer. It’s Don Quxiotie. Continued GOP support is destructive to constitutional governance. And EVERY decent pol needs to get out of that snake pit now. If they don’t they are not decent pols anymore.

No excuses.

Norm, you have smuggled in an assumption (hat tip to C S Lewis) that to permit evil is to endorse it.

That would be an unbridgeable conundrum were it not the sacrifice of the Cross.

An entire LIFETIME will be spent progressively turning away from more and more evil, with a point of perfection NEVER reached until the transition into heaven has completed.

Sometimes the state in which the power of faith may be first seen can be rather raunchy. Look at Rahab the Harlot (she is in Jesus’ earthly family tree). Did she get asked or told to quit being a harlot? Nope. She only was asked to discreetly mark a dwelling and to keep a secret. Which she did, and she got praise for it. See the book of Hebrews.

It is the right of Christ to bear whatever sins He chooses. Trying to be more finicky than Him is always, always, always an attempt to be righteous in our own power — it will not work!

He is? Is that why they campagned amongst rat constituencies to get their votes in the run-off? Is that why they pulled tricks against a conservative candidate that they have never stooped to use against the left? If that’s the GOP, I know I’m not a part of it, and he isn’t the man I think he is, if he is a part of such.

Not real interested in debating the word of God with an idiot that admits on public forums that he believes Abortion to be a ‘lesser evil’.

And I really doubt, when he ran on the GOP ticket, that he himslef expected them to pull out all the stops, down to the dirtiest, against a conservative candidate, when they grovel and mewl to the left.

I.e. not interested on budging off the fallacious dime to which you are super glued in a colossal begging of the question.

As long as you are that way, Christ can not help you progress to having more power in Him and less in yourself.

I mean what if God told you that in order to help bring abortion to an end, you would have to exercise some degree of forbearance with people who have permissive attitudes toward it.

You’d probably say that was nonsense.

And you’d be wrong.

If we could wave a magic wand from Congress and stop it I’d be the first to say wave the magic wand. But there is no such magic wand. There is only what Winston Churchill called blood, sweat, toil, and tears. Very happily and blessedly, Christ has already volunteered to furnish that grunt work for us, with our own reflection of that being a mere shadow of His.
