Gateway Pundit ^ | 6/26/14 | Jim Hoft

The Chris McDaniel campaign has identified multiple Mississippi counties in which enough improper ballots have been cast that a legal challenge to the outcome of the election is warranted.

-- instead of just using the Republican poll book so that they could plausibly claim honest error and avoid creating an obvious written record --

Heh. Well, you will never go wrong if you overestimate human stupidity.

-- If half the margin of victory were fraudulent, then the fraud could have affected the outcome. --

I don't think that's the case, in this situation. It would be in a case where the ballots could be cast for either candidate (i.e., the ballot is valid, but we don't know which way it should go); but in this case, the ballots don't belong in the pile, at all. The invalid ones get subtracted from one side, but not added to the other.

You're an idiot.

If there is no runoff, that column wouldn't be used. Ergo, the Democratic sign-in book would have no entries in the 6/24 column.

Flawed. Both columns are there to keep track of who votes in primaries and potential runoffs. Some that voted in the dem primary also voted in the runoff. But there was no dem runoff, only a repub runoff. Ergo there are prima facie violations.

You really are an idiot coming to a place like this and expecting anything.

Why would people voting in the GOP runoff be marked down in the Democratic Poll Book?

Duffee explained that up-thread. Here's another take on it.

Democrat Republican
Voted 6/3 didn't vote 6/3 Voted 6/3 didn't vote 6/3
NOT eligible Eligible Eligible Eligible
You can see that the only voters not eligible to vote in the GOP runoff are those who did vote in the 'Rat primary on 6/3. The only poll book needed to check this on 6/24 - for either party - is the Democratic Poll Book. That's the one that was used.

I understand what you’re saying Cboldt... They’re only looking in the pile of Cochran votes.

You’re right, they’d need to find the full margin of fraudulent _Cochran_ votes.

I stand corrected !

Well, there is no way to know if the vote went to Cochran or McDaniel. A reasonable assumption is that they are assigned AT LEAST in the same proportion as the total outcome; a majority of them for Cochran. And it isn't much of a stretch to assume that 90% or more of DEMs who crossed over to vote in this runoff were motivated by Cochran's GOTV effort.

At any rate, you need a number of invalid ballots at least as great as the margin of victory, to bring the outcome into question. That amounts to an assumption that 100% of the invalid ballots were cast for Cochran.

Yes - what I mean is that given a vote is fraudulent, one would assume it could be for Cochran. Then since it is fraudulent, it's thrown out - not added to McDaniel's total.

Freepers should remember Cochran is a means to an end.

Prior to a few years ago his ACU was around 90

These folks get so bastardized

Yes. Saying it yet another way, the ballot is fraudulent no matter what. All that can be done with it is subtract it from one side or the other side. There is an argument that some of the ballots cast illegally went to McDaniel, if for no reason other than voter error! The illegality of the ballot is independent of who it was cast for.

There was a democratic runoff in the extreme northeastern part of Hinds County on June 24. Mississippi’s 3rd Congressional District includes the northeast corner of Hinds County. There was a runoff between Doug Magee and Dennis Quinn. I would guess the photo of the ballot page everyone is referencing is a photo of a poll book from one of those precincts.

DemRinos need to borrow Al Franken’s car with the large trunk and ballots.

Were there ANY Democratic runoffs going on for any other races Tuesday?

Nope. All the DEM races were decided on June 3. All winners got more than 50% of the votes cast.

You can’t just arbitrarily subtract it from one side or the other. And you can’t throw the ballot out because it isn’t tied in anyway to the illegal voter. (its a secret ballot) The best we can hope for is there are enough illegal votes (more than the margin of victory) that it warrants a “re-do” in the election. That is all we can hope for.

In a perfect world... everyone in mississippi who voted illegally would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Fined the maximum allowable by law. We can't throw thier ballots out because we don't know which ones are theirs, but we can know who they are and they should be prosecuted.

Imagine the press if 35K people were fined or whatever the law calls for. THAT would go a long way toward helping insure more fair elections in the future.

For sure the Ruling Class considers it a game.

They don’t really have to live with the consequences, though.

That’s for us peasants in the Productive Class.

Has anyone verified that its illegal to vote in the runoff of a primary when the voter voted in the other primary?

If so, then its a slam dunk for any Democrat who voted Tuesday.

Yes, it was verified quite some time ago, www time.

It's a slam dunk for any dem because the dems AND the GOP-e are encouraging fraud to get their boy in so he can retire and O'Connell can appoint his son to the seat.

GOP-e politics at it's finest.

I always wondered why the GOP would not fight voter fraud, it's because they do it too.
