A Michigan referee of an adult-league soccer match died Tuesday, two days after being punched in the head by a player, authorities said.
John Bieniewicz, 44, died at Detroit Receiving Hospital from injuries suffered in what police said was an unprovoked attack. The blow left the victim unconscious and not breathing on the field, Livonia Police Chief Curtis Caid said.
After the attack, the player fled the field and waved his middle finger at the crowd.
Bieniewicz was in critical condition when he reached the hospital and was pronounced dead Tuesday morning.

What I’ve been doing is asking you questions to try to get you to admit whether the people who usually engage in the Knockout Game fit the profile of this man in question. I think we both, along with just about every poster on this site, know very well that they do not.

Well, since I don’t know him I can’t know for sure that he is not secretly a ‘Chaldean’ or a secret ‘Viking’. But since he has a Muslim name and is from Deerbornestan, I’m betting he’s Muslim.
But feel free to believe whatever you wish about him.
The name Saad is Middle Eastern, but was around before Islam. It might be Sefardi Jewish or Christian too. In this case, Baseel seems certainly a Muslim.

The ref just Red carded, or ejected the player when the player hauled off and punched him in the temple. The ref was a family guy and a supervisor at CS Mott children’s hospital dialysis unit. Public opinion is currently running oh, about 100% against the perp everywhere but Dearborn, which is where he’s from.

Well, I’m sure if you scour the internet you may find a couple cases where the perp was a different ethnic group, but in the vast majority of cases, we both know the answer to your question, don’t we?

Wait, so some people are actively targeting your race (assuming you are white of course), and you are not the least bit interested in knowing whether those folks fit an easily identifiable profile? What do you do, just view everyone suspiciously as if they might be planning to punch you in the head when you aren’t looking?

Yep, happened to a couple guys I know that got in a barfight that ended badly for the one who started it.
You know, it probably doesn’t matter to the dead man’s family and loved ones what was the motivation for the crime; their loved one is dead.
As for Baseel Abdul-Amir Saad, he struck a man knowing he could cause grievous bodily injury and that man die as a consequence of that action. I anticipate he will tried for murder/manslaughter and will be convicted under Michigan law of 2nd degree murder.
And, if found guilty, I for one hope he has a life sentence.
Yep, that’s voluntary manslaughter.
I think the sentencing guidelines in Michigan call for 25 to life with the possibility of parole for murder 2. The judge can exceed those guidelines but must present compelling reasons to do so. In all likelihood this goes in at manslaughter 1 which I believe is 15 to 25 with possibility of parole by the sentencing guidelines. We’ll see how it plays out. My personal guess is since public opinion is running so strongly against the perp he takes a plea on manslaughter 1. We’ll see.
