From day one, angry atheists have made outlandish claims about the Ground Zero Cross the two intersecting steal beams in the shape of a cross that was found in the wreckage of the World Trade Center following 9/11.
Not only have they made these absurd claims in public (calling it offensive and repugnant), theyve made them in federal court. Now a federal appeals court is calling them out and demanding they provide a rational explanation as to how their offense constitutes a constitutional claim.

I admire the religious zeal of these atheists.
The Ground Zero Cross turned me into a newt. You’re not a newt. Well I got better.
It’s comical. They think they have a constitutional right to not see something.
Actually none of them believe what they say, it’s merely their job to push the envelope and push religion out of America.
I want to know why no defense attorney/prosecutor/depending ever asks in court if the people involved in the suit receive funds from groups like Tides, Pew etc. that fund anti-faith groups.
If they answer yes, then they slit their throat in front of the judge/jury. If they answer no, then the discovery process should have already provided proof they do. If not, a simple online lookup will confirm it. In either case they will have perjured themselves and thus slit their own throats.
Bot this never happens. Why?
I think they mean steel.
Typical journalist grammatical ignorance...
Hey, it spell checked, it must be write! ;-)
angry atheists - love it.
Sorry to say, this is a press release by ACLJ and, as such, untouched by 'journalists'. I am a fan and supporter of the ACLJ and think / KNOW that they do good work. Tis a shame when these very minor things mar important issues.
Hatred of Jesus Christ is the root of liberalism and the Democrat party.

But some seem to think a typo is the most important thing in the article.
Perhaps the angry atheists should foment their anger at those who created the cross.
Did any of these atheists complain about the Ground Zero Mosque?
I can't help but want to offer them a Biblical solution " If thine eye offend thee.................."
My wife’s nephew was raised in a good home, went to church, allegedly saved and was a youth leader. He went to college and bought into the atheistic leftist agenda and now is a full of rage and hate. He’s arrogant and spiteful toward his Christian family members thinking himself a “thinking and enlightened man of pure science”.
In my run in with him I just told him his hate of Christians, Jews and hate in general is going to burn him up inside to which he said I don’t hate anyone. Really I replied, you should read your writings, it drips with rage and anger toward anyone of faith.
And in order for you to promote your atheism you can only mock and ridicule Christians, Jews and people of faith, tell me why would I want to travel your rage filled route where all you have to offer is hate, arrogant condescension and mockery? I told him and I would be praying for him, that he knows better. I ignore his stupidity for the most part. He is one miserable critter and nothing satisfies him and he brought it on himself.
I would love to hear their answer to that one.
Sorry to hear about your nephew. Have a brother in similar situation. Sad but not surprising. Nothing has changed since Cain and Abel.
Liberals and Democrats are the party of Cain.
Saying despicable things about the Cross will not hold up in Court on the Day of Judgment when they have to say “Your Honor”...
