Malaysian Plane 'Shot Down With 295 On Board'
SkyNews ^ | July 17,2014

A Malaysian passenger plane with 295 people on board has been shot down as it flew above eastern Ukraine, according to aviation sources.

The plane, which is believed to have been flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was travelling at an altitude of 10km (6.2 miles) when it was shot down, Russia's Interfax reported.

The Boeing 777 was brought down by a Buk ground-to-air missile, an adviser to the Ukrainian interior ministry quoted by the news agency said.

he adviser said the 280 passengers and 15 crew members who were on the plane are all believed to have died.

A spokesman for Malaysian Airlines confirmed it had lost contact with flight MH17, which departed from Amsterdam at 12.14am local time.

The flight disappeared from radar as it flew over Ukrainian airspace, he said.

Sky's Katie Stallard, in Moscow, said media reports suggest the plane came down in the Donetsk region, where there has been recent heavy fighting amid continuing tensions between Russia and Ukraine.

Several videos apparently filmed in the area, none of which Sky News has been able to independently verify, show plumes of thick, black smoke rising high into the air.

An aviation source told the Reuters news agency the wreckage of a burning aircraft had been found on the ground.

A spokesman for the Foreign Office said: "We are aware of reports and are urgently working to establish what has happened."

I hate to agree with Whorealdo but my guess is Ukranian separatists. I don’t see Putin shooting down airliners.

The rebels do have access to such systems and the personnel having or previous training. They have been boasting for weeks now of having captured SA-11 BUK. It looks like a tragic scenario where the rebels have used the SA-11s

'DONETSK, June 29, /ITAR-TASS/. Self-defence forces of the Donetsk People’s Republic have taken control over a missile defence army unit equipped with Buk missile defence systems, the press service of the Donetsk People’s Republic told Itar-Tass on Sunday. So far, no details are available about the number and condition of the missile systems taken over by the self-defence forces. The press service refused to comment. The Buk missile defence system is a mobile medium-range surface-to-air missile (SAM) system designed to defend field troops and logistics installations against air threats in conditions of heavy electronic countermeasures and intense enemy fire.' http://en.itar-tass.com/world/738262

Malaysian Air has lost two 777s in four months - looks like they had 12 now 10 - that’s a lot of capacity to just “lose”. The wikipedia page for Malaysian Air already has today’s crash noted in the inventory table. Sheesh thats fast.

“Wasn’t it under air traffic control of some country??

Yes, it was on a filed and active IFR flight plan. Russian ATC reported it overdue in checking in at the expected time (as per report from German News source DW)

OTOH Malaysian Airlines should be known as Eastern Industrial Light and Magic. It seems they provide equipment and extras for the armed conflicts.

Really interesting. And clever. Are you serious about MA providing equipment for armed conflicts? Do you have a source?

“I don’t know WHICH video maker is responsible for this, but he is in A LOT of trouble.”

Another reason to have Like buttons on FR. Heh...

Alright, I confess. I did it. I hated them, I hated them all. I killed the pig because he was going to squeal. I killed the bird because he was going to sing....

>>>>>It does seem peculiar that Malaysian Air has had two airline "incidents" in such a short period of time.<<<<<

I found the most peculiar that among some 20,000 airline crews flying daily all over the globe CNN interviewed MH370 crew one day before their "dissapearance".

I wonder whether MH-17 crew was also interviewed this week by some media or what will perspire on social media.

Also, it would be worth finding where B777 twin is located. >

Yes. They are commies. This is what commies do. Lie, cheat, steal and kill.

The joke went over your head. In movies, the directors sometimes use extras for effect. The joke was referring to Malaysia Air being an unwitting extra in the “movie” of armed conflict.
