WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said on Thursday it appeared that the downing of a Malaysian airliner near the Ukraine-Russia border was not an accident and that the passenger jet apparently was "blown out of the sky."
"This is truly a grave situation," Biden said in a speech in Detroit.
He said he had seen reports that Americans may have been on board and that "we're now working every minute to try to confirm those reports as I speak."
Biden said the downing of the jet was tragic. He spoke by phone to Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko.

Seems to be kind of dumb to fly a plane over a war zone where two planes were shot down in a week. Are Malyasians that stupid? And were Americans really on board? Most crashes take months and years to investigate. My, this was quick!

You could see how he was moving his head back and forth to read the teleprompter. How long has it been since a President or Vice could look straight into the camera and talk with the American people? Stay tuned for more from him as Barry is once again on vacation.

A tragedy is when a flock of geese fly into your Rolls Royces.
The insurers and airlines are going to inflict some serious damage when they have to bite all the damages because some ‘general’ missed his real target. If i were the airline I wouldn.t release the passenger manifest until i had a clear culprit in the shootdown.
The idiocy of Crazy Ol’ Joe never ceases.
Other airlines were doing so to. Look at routes between Northern Europe and say Singapore. And Malaysia Airlines has been cash-strapped since they lost that other flight, and saving thousands of gallons on jet fuel on a twice a day run made sense at the time.
But hindsight is something that only happens after events, not before.
Though I’d have to say that after today those flights will stop!
Well at least ole Joe knew it was a terrible tragedy. He forgot to clue Barry in about it.
