Russia’s Defence Ministry dismissed accusations on Monday that pro-Russia separatists in Ukraine’s east were at fault for shooting down a Malaysia Airlines jet last week, alleging instead that Ukrainian warplanes had been flying close to the plane.
The ministry also denied accusations that Russia had supplied the separatists with SA-11 Buk anti-aircraft missile systems – which are known as “Gadfly” in NATO – or “any other weapons.”
“Russian air space control systems detected a Ukrainian Air Force plane, presumably an SU-25 (fighter jet), scrambling in the direction of the Malaysian Boeing,” Lieutenant-General Igor Makushev of Russia’s Air Forces told a news briefing. “The distance of the SU-25 plane from the Boeing was from 3 to 5 kilometres (2 to 3 miles).”
The ministry’s comments came as the Netherlands announced that prosecutors had opened an investigation into the crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17, which claimed the lives of all 298 people on board, 193 of whom were Dutch citizens

Meanwhile Obama spoke a short while ago....same old sing-song with no substance regarding Ukraine. Over and over he mentioned Russia this and Russia that and Russia needs to etc etc........his repetition was obvious and overkill to say the least. You would think Obama would get it that Russia...nor the Anti-Kiev fighters care what Obama states. .....actually few do anywhere.

This was shot down at altitude, and is spread over a 10 mile area. Any actual shrapnel is going to be very hard to find.
There are numerous pics and vids showing shrapnel damage to the aircraft.

We know the Russian separatists did it. We’ve seen the video of the launcher, minus one rocket, being removed. We’ve heard the intercept where the commander was bragging.

The rebels have taken the OSCE to the crash site.
Remember, this is in the middle of a combat area, in the middle of a civil war. The rebels have every reason to believe that Kiev would use that access for a military advantage. This crashed in the middle of a disputed zone, that cuts off access to several thousand surrounded Ukrainian troops.
The Rebels have offered full access in return for a cease-fire, something Kiev will not agree to.

It isn't about doubt...nor is it about Putin....it's about finding of facts of a passenger plane downed in an active war zone... which to date have not been determined in full.
At question is who fired the shot.....currently it appears the Anti-Kiev fighters mistook the plane for a cargo plane. Even that remains to be evidenced as so.
Russia and the US/EU and Kiev are using this as political cannon fodder....if that's not obvious to you then you need to get with the ‘media wars’ in full operation now....and have been since the Maidan revolution.

I don’t know if this shootdown was caused by the Separatists or if it was some horrific attempt at a false-flag - like the Syrian chemical attack.
I would like to find out what there is to find out. So would the rest of FR.
