When it comes to the general election, Mark Begich continues to have modest leads over all of his potential Republican opponents. In the most likely match up with Sullivan he gets 43% to Sullivan's 37% with a bevy of third party candidates combining to get 7%. When you take them out of the mix Begich's lead is 45/41. Begich has held a lead in the 4-7 point range over Sullivan in all four of PPP's polls of this race over the last year.
The numbers for Begich against Treadwell are pretty similar. He has a 42/37 lead when the entire field is included that drops to 44/41 after you prod supporters of the third party candidate about who they would vote for if they had to pick one of the major candidates. In the unlikely event Begich got to face off against Joe Miller his lead would be double digits at 45/32.

Politics in Alaska is unique. Democrats are unpopular there, but most its voters combine Libertarian-leaning conservatism with support for public works, stemming partly from resentment over the Federal government’s ownership of most of its land. Also, the individual candidate is more important than party labels and voters value local roots even though a lot of people there are from somewhere else.
This could easily go either way.
horsesh!t. ppp also has mark pryor +1 in arkansas, and there is no way that’s accurate.
Push comes to shove, I'd not be voting third party, JUST saying...no need for flames or zot, fellow FReepers! LOL
Trying desperately to ignore the real conservative in the race, Joe Miller. Pro-life, pro-gun, pro-oil. and the only one who DIDN’T support Lisa Murkowski in the last election.
It's a lot more liberal than the reputation. And the uninformed are legion.
The fact that Begich is at 43% is very heartening. As regards Arkansas mentioned about, here’s hoping Mr. Cotton reminds Mr. Pryor of his lack of military service in every way possible...without being too obvious. Like his father, Pryor was a little too good to serve in uniform.
Miller would get crushed.
PPP is rat pollster. Still, I’m not happy with these numbers. Sullivan is the stronger candidate, yes?
Lisa Murkowski told Begich to stop campaigning on how often he votes with her. LOL

Sad to say; Begich is running a stellar campaign. The GOP is imploding, of course, as the 3 contenders destroy each other for Begich to finalize their demise on Nov. 4. This is one seat the GOP thought would be a “pick-up” this year. Well........ I don’t see that happening.

Apparently you do not live in, or near, Arkansas. The Pryor name is borderline sacred. Cotton is not running a great campaign. He has the personality of Michael Dukakis while Pryor smiles, talks about Jesus, shakes hands and slaps -backs........ Nope; like Alaska, this is another “pick-up” the GOP better not count on just yet.
BTW John; the “Shift” key on your keyboard for letter capitalization, is your friend.
Really, I thought she's be proud of all the "bipartisan" legislation they support together "for" the people of Alaska. Maybe she's scared of another primary challenge.
I like Joe Miller, but the dude couldn’t even win against a write-in candidate.
I do not, but I made the same observation in another thread, and someone who does live in arkansas confirmed everything I said.

I come from a long family line of military men. I served during the Vietnam War. But, lack of military service is no big deal to the 21st Century Americans. That might be an ill-advised campaign move on Cotton’s part because there are more people voting who did NOT serve than who did serve. Cotton just needs to get his sh** together, get a little charisma worked up and hit Pryor on his 6 year love-fest with Obama. People thought this State was a sure pick-up for the GOP; yeah, about like Alaska. This is not going to be an easy win. (If it’s a win at all.)
don’t sweat my shift key. it’s not your business. and nobody likes a grammar nazi.

Well, tell your friend in Arkansas to not be surprised if Pryor pulls it out. If I could gamble righteously, I’d bet my money on Pryor at this stage of the game.
Just trying to help. Why don’t you eliminate puncutation marks while your at it? Make your Post really had to read. Hey, if you want to lessen your credibility by appearing too ignorant to know when to capitalize a letter; that’s on you. I don’t shive a git.
