A VIOLENT riot and looting has erupted in Missouri, after a protest over the killing of an unarmed black teenager descended into chaos.

Crowds of protesters broke windows of cars and stores after a day of demonstrations over the death of Michael Brown, an 18-year-old black teenager who was shot dead on Saturday by a police officer in the predominately black neighbourhood of Ferguson, located a few miles north of downtown St Louis, the Chicago Tribune reports.

At the time he was shot and killed by police, Brown was unarmed and allegedly surrendering with his hands in the air on Saturday.

A police officer shot him several times, killing him.

But, the St. Louis County Police Department’s chief, which is handling the investigation into the incident, says Brown assaulted the officer and struggled over the officer’s weapon.

The officer who shot Brown is on paid leave while the shooting is under investigation.

At around 8.30pm local time on Sunday, 30 minutes before a vigil was to be held for Brown, protesters became “aggressive”, Fox2Now reports.

A riot then broke out, sending locals inside and running for cover.

“We are currently experiencing a riot,” a Ferguson police dispatcher said

Actually, the uncontrolled violence and chaos is according to plan.

Population reduction is the ultimate goal.

The old totalitarians lined people up in front of trenches and shot them.

The new totalitarians import diseases, gangs, and masses of uneducated people to displace the productive population. The resultant chaos causes population reduction on a scale that could not be accomplished by firing squads and trenches or even gas chambers and ovens.

For what sometimes appears to be a majority but is not yet a majority ... Rising above the Noise and Confusion(s) is a foreign concept and sometimes they that will not rise above the noise and confusion is part of their plan; be it futile as their plan is.

Even if this was a bad shoot by police, it does not justify or excuse this animal behavior.

Twenty two years later, neighborhoods in South Central LA still have vacant lots where stores once stood before the riots. People complain about the lack of retail. Who wants to run a business in a neighborhood where the locals are known for stealing, looting and burning businesses to the ground?

Good points. I’ve heard that some areas of Detroit never recovered after the riots of ‘67 there. Some areas of Washington DC destroyed in the riots of ‘68 have recovered in recent years, but it took decades. There were bombed out buildings there for decades too.

These people are not protesting a police shooting. I would support their rights to protest a perceived unjust action. But starting a riot is not helping their cause. If anything, much of America looks at this and thinks that feral people are rioting for no good reason.

Then they’ll bitch and whine about there not being any jobs, and about “Food Deserts.”

I love explaining the concept of food deserts to people. Most have no idea what it means.

There used to be a chain store called Pay ‘n Save in the Seattle area. They had a sidewalk sale every year. One year I went to the one in my middle class neighborhood and saw a certain item for $1.99.

I then went to lunch a couple of days later with some work buddies and there was a P&S in the same strip mall, which was in the “Rainier beach” area (predominantly black and poor neighborhood). There they had the exact same item for $2.99.

It costs more to do business in a poor neighborhood. It’s very expensive to be poor in the US.

I used to have an acquaintence that owned a chain of “off price” grocery stores. Most of them were in middle class to lower middle class neighborhoods. One day he opened one in a poor and almost exclusively black neighborhood. This was in the mid-70’s.

The shoplifting was so serious that he had to shut it down after doing everything he could for two years. And the quality of the staff that was willing to work in such an environment was also part of the problem.

This is nearly as formulaic as the Israeli-Arab conflict.

When anything happens in the ME, they Arabs blame/attack Israel.

When anything happens in a black neighborhood, they riot and loot stores.

And islam is really taking off in the poor black communities (and among the black population of our prison system).

The reason is simple: Islam gives you precise rules on how to live your life, which foot to enter a room with, which hand to wipe your butt with, what direction to point your head when praying, etc. And if you closely follow these rules, then any problems in your life are “somebody else’s” fault, be it Israel, the Great Satan (the US) or “The Man”.

And islam gives plenty of Carte Blanche to act out on it.

The worst part of the entire incident is that there were 300 police cars on the scene but only 32 arrests.

Rev Al is coming to town and Ben Crump is representing the family.

Isn’t St Louis fortunate —

I’m sure your acquaintance would be called racist for not putting up with that environment. But in reality, he had to make business decisions about whether he could run a business in such a place. He found it didn’t make sense. Dollars and cents. No business can survive long term if not turning a profit.

“Local media outlets and residents have posted social media videos and photographs of the violence taking place, as more pictures emerged of looters fleeing stores with stolen goods.”

Stolen goods? Oh my, someone in the media let the cat out of the bag. They forgot to call it reparations.

I don't remember the '67 riots but I can imagine the toll it took on the Detroit.

You're right. It's not a protest. I'm not very familiar with St. Louis, but I'm wondering how close this was to the Pruitt–Igoe public housing area (north side of town?). There was never a riot there but it was a war zone until it was torn down. That was 40 years ago, and it's still mostly unused land.

Living in South Florida at the time, I recalled the Liberty City and Overtown riots in the 80s.

It fueled "white flight" to the suburbs and a lot of gun sales. The 8 Mile Rd. edge is now 14 Mile Rd. Coleman and Kwami did a fine job of poisoning Detroit.

I've to Detroit a few times and it isn't that much worse than Cleveland. The gated communities where folks like Eminem and GM CEOs live are pretty nice.

As a country kid, I thought it was exciting to drive through the poor parts of Detroit to get to the fairgrounds with our horses. There were always a lot of black guys with gorgeous high stepping Saddlebreds there.

An account said that the looters were taking “food and toilet paper.” That’s how bad this Obama economy is. In the good old days in Watts, they were stealing TVs. In Katrina, the same demographic was stealing flat screen TVs, beer and expensive tennis shoes. Now, thanks to Obama, they are reduced to food and toilet paper.

Yep, the real race war will be blacks and latinos.

Unfortunately they will be fighting over who gets to pick clean the bones of western civilization.

“food and toilet paper.”

They were taking food and toilet paper because that's all that was left after the cash registers and everything else was looted. When nothing was left they set fire to the store.
