FERGUSON Mo. (Reuters) - Violence again erupted in the St. Louis area near the site of the police shooting death of an unarmed black teenager, according to local police, despite calls by U.S. President Barack Obama and activists for a measured response.
Early on Wednesday, a police officer shot and critically wounded a man who drew a handgun near the site of protests over the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown, a St. Louis County Police Department officer said.
Police responded about an hour after midnight to reports of four or five men with shotguns and wearing ski masks. They encountered multiple suspects running, one of whom pulled a gun on an officer, who fired at him, the county officer said. The man was taken to an area hospital.
Shortly after midnight, police fired tear gas into protesters who had confronted a line of officers after a far larger crowd dispersed, St. Louis County Police Department spokesman Brian Schellman said.
A photograph in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch showed a protester wearing a shirt with an American flag printed on it throwing a tear gas container back at the police. There were other media reports of bottles thrown at police.
The incidents followed two nights of violent protests, looting and arrests in Ferguson, the largely black St. Louissuburb where the shooting of Brown took place.
Obama promised a full investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice into the teenager's death...

Evidently the first kid took the officer’s gun and discharged it.
So at some point, it appears this was not an unarmed kid.

You mean, except when a Rabbi was gunned down walking to a shul in Miami this week — a shul that has recently been painted with Nazi symbols — that get a “no evidence of hate crime” pronouncement immediately.

We are once again seeing the complete lack of character and moral fiber.

Feminize the ranks and you necessarily feminize the rules of conduct. Men, to be held or seen as men traditionally or historically are held to standards and have responsibility to them. Deadly force used to require a deadly threat.

I went over and read what he had to say. I’m willing to listen to the guy. I will say I can see some problems with what took place. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this officer wind up in trouble.
I will say that the street in question is a very large street. Someone walking down it at night is risking a lot because they may not be seen by a tired driver.
Just because a witness is willing to give their name and have their face out there, it’s no proof they have decent motives. This guy could just as easily be a guy with an axe to grind. Who knows.
I don’t seen a fence there. The officer was said to have shot the kid trying to go over a fence.
This is still playing out. Perhaps we’ll get more information as it does.

Is there ANY ‘good’ reason to be wearing a ski mask on a summer night in St. Louis? It certainly wasn’t needed to prevent frostbite and it risks heatstroke.
Things are heating up just in time for the mid term elections, just as planned.

No, I think the one that was hopping the fence was the case in the 60s that the standard he’s talking about was based on, not the recent incident.
